Just found the video, man, this looks incredible, I hope you won that contest! I don't own Enshrouded but I loved building in Valheim, their system was so intuitive and the builds always had a nice feeling to them (other than the structural support issue that I've removed with mods). I was looking into the building system and capabilities of other similar games. This is the first time I see something so inspiring that would push me to get the game just to spend hours making something nice for myself. Definitely going into my wishlist. Cheers

I just got into Valheim and I'm playing through in VR. It's pretty incredible how beautiful structures look in game in the first person and can only imagine how great your build would look. As someone just learning to work some of the more nuanced mechanics of the game, a more explicit tutorial would be greatly appreciated. Your video was fun to watch but I would have like to see the smaller bits like how you manipulate terrain, how you line building pieces up, and even how you might be willing in the middle of a build to scrap an idea and start over, such as with your bridge.

First, let me just say welcome to Valheim :) The game must be crazy in VR! I totally get the desire for a step by step tutorial. There are so many great builders who create exactly those kinds of videos! This video was done in this way for 2 main reasons. First, I was trying to be a little different from all of those other builders and experiment with a bit of storytelling style of video. Second and certainly more importantly, this was truthfully a fresh survival playthrough at the time. I did not intend to build something elaborate at all, and thus was not recording any of it. It all just...kinda happened lol. But I had no footage at all of the build process. Once I loved the finished product and decided I wanted to make a video, I had to figure out how to tell the "making of" story after the fact. I used the screenshots I had taken along the way to aid in that. I also went through the work of creating a copy of the same exact virgin world file, so I could go back to the same location without any buildings in it to create the beginning of my video. I demolished a few parts to rebuild them for the video only when absolutely necessary. And I completely copy/pasted the whole house on a flat area of the coast somewhere to showcase some roof demos. A lot of completely extra work just to make a video like this! So definitely thank you for viewing a year later!

A friend of mine wanted this in our game and I love building so offered to do it. I gotta say: level 5 is pissing me off. How the fuck do you blend the tower roof to the extended roof? I’m like 1/4 of a meter off on the right angle connection.

Aww thank you! I 100% want to get back to Valheim soon! I have a hard time balancing real life, work, and all my other hobbies with game time. And then even when it comes to games, there are so many games fighting for my attention :( FF7 Rebirth and Elden Ring swept me away for 5 months and I'm still not done there... I haven't even touched Enshrouded since building this 5 months ago lol.

That intro was insane, man! Also, YES, PLEASE DROP A TUTORIAL! These all look absolutely amazing and I want to recreate them in my own world. Edit: Wow, that seasonality mod looks absolutely incredible. I'll have to install that immediately. The flowery spring meadows look absolutely magical. You have quickly become my favorite Valheim builder ever.

I'm a "figure it out as I go along" builder, so I have trouble with planning out a whole build from the get-go. I often get overwhelmed by build videos that either just showcase a finished product or start out with a detailed floor plan, because unless I follow that to a t, there's no way I can recreate it. It also wouldn't feel like "mine", because it wouldn't be, I'd just copy someone else's build. Which isn't bad, just not always what I'm after. This is why I love your videos so much. While you do give a step by step explanation of how your build came to be, it's not anything to do with block counts and all that, but giving us guidelines and inspiration. Most importantly, you start with a basic box and show us the myriad of ways we can customize that step by step. To me, starting with something tangible like this is way better than starting with an empty, flat piece of land that gives me blank page syndrome.
@Homitu2 ай бұрын
Thanks, friend! That's exactly the way I am, too - which is what gave me the idea for these kinds of videos. I generally have 3 or 4 loose ideas of what I want my build to be about, but have zero vision to visualize the finished product. I just start experimenting with 1 or 2 of the ideas at a time and see what comes of it. That act of experimenting inevitably leads to other ideas, which I then test, which leads to yet new ideas, on and on. It's a fun discovery process more than anything. But I hear ya on the blank page syndrome. I used to get completely paralyzed with limitless possibilities, so I found just starting with some simple shape or box to get the ball rolling is sometimes all I need to get going. The lesson I've learned thus far: there's literally no wrong way to begin a build! So worrying about messing something up from the beginning is ridiculous! Thanks for watching and commenting on a bunch of my videos! 😊

What da hell! This build is beautiful!! Ive come from hundreds of hours building in valheim and can’t wait to try this out. One question i need to know though, how do i unlock that trap door that thing is amazing for a build
@Homitu2 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Enshrouded is definitely a fun, complimentary change of pace from Valheim. I definitely recommend it if you're into building or just in the mood for some adventuring with a bit more map-marker type direction to it! I need to get back into both games, personally, as it's been a few months for me. I honestly don't remember when that trap door was unlocked in the crafting progression process, sorry :( There are a few trap doors you can build, using different materials. I think they're built at the carpenter.

They just had two big updates that include both new building blocks and, terrain blocks {finally some hedges terrain} & trampolines 😮 You can actually build inside a giant tree that you can build the "trunk" as well, if that makes sense lol ! I would love to see what you could come up with now it would be so dope I bet ! This was an amazing build ! And, I enjoyed everything about the video thanks!
