You can see when they were gonna hit the ground, Joe hugs the boy in close so that he took all the impact of the fall. If he didn’t do that the boy would have been seriously injured or died from the fall. He has a hero for doing that.

This was aired on HBO and Star Movies when I was a kid, back before 2008's, one of my fav. movies. Man that decade was so nostaglic, sitting in front of TV and watching all these movies! George of the Jungle, Jingle all the way, The Mummy, The Mummy returns, Dunston checks in, Ace Ventura pet detective, Liar liar and so many more!

Correct. There's an earlier scene when Rusty and Russ meet Old Man Russ, and an elderly Amy appears in the background. Rusty observes, "That old lady looked familiar", and Russ responds, "Yeah, I thought so too", implying the two of them have gotten together, married and had a family.
