OMG. Please people in America refuse to live in such knock offs housing.. It's utterly mind-blowing you are living in wooden thin crap like this.. In other parts of the world this is not considered a house, housing. Build from bricks and concrete. Your loving standards will improve tenfold. This is a scam. Take care my friends

In this stick-built house, you can probably hear someone walking or sneezing on the first floor on the fourth floor. In my opinion, the frame type is the worst option for a 4 story apartment building. It is the cheapest and most unreliable construction option, but for sure for a lot of money. And of course you will be lied to about the fact that this house is eco-friendly.

I can't tell if you're serious or not. 5-storey wood-framed buildings are very common. This one is only 4 stories of wood-framing on a concrete first floor, or a "4-over-1". They're commonly built with up to 5 storeys of wood-framing on a concrete first floor, making 6 floors overall (called a "5-over-1").

It’s not really the architect’s fault, because this is cheaper than building with more insulation or with sturdier materials. Blame the system that incentivizes taking the cheapest option instead of the most efficient or safest options

I've lived in wood apartments that are incredibly quiet. Well insulated wall and a fiber concete layer between floors. Just because it's wood does not mean it's loud. I've been in concete buildings that were a disaster for hallway -> apartment acoustics. Poor design is poor design.

What kind of apartment building is made with wood ? I understand a small 1 family home being made with wood, but an apartment complex ?! Cmon
@timpula99843 жыл бұрын
Most 4-5 story apartments complexes built in the last 30-40 years are framed with lumber. The lumber is typically sustainably harvested from tree farms. It is a good and cost effective material - although over the part 12-14 months lumber prices have skyrocketed. If the same apartment units were built out of concrete or steel you'd easily add 30% to the cost of the unit.
