I have a question on framing a pastel piece against the glass , which you use on large pieces. Did you spray a protective finish spray on your pieces before framing them? Does this help with preventing shedding? Thanks! Patty

So funny! I grew up using the decimal system now I live in a country that uses the metric system and I find myself thinking in both ways and I drive myself and others crazy because of it.🤣🤣

Wow this is brilliant! What is the white pastel pencil you use for the sparkles on the sea foam?
@EmmaColbertArt4 күн бұрын
Thank you! The white pencil is a Generals White 4414. Well worth getting, it's a very good strong white in comparison to all other pencils.

Wow Emma, we are so spoiled for choice on your Patreon and KZbin channels. Everything i have been wanting to try seafoam on wet sand and the other recent tutorials, cow in landscape and sparrow in hydrangea all cover things i really want to try and then there are so many breathtaking pieces in your golden oldie section that are on my bucket list. Thank you so much for inspiring and stretching us to paint anything and everything.

Hi, thank you so much for your explanations. I don't undertand why you need to take a new layer in the software each time you pick up a colour... Why is it important? Thank you so much again and big hi from accross Europe!

This is so satisfying! What makes you decide to take off the wrappers or leave them on?
I am watching this for the first time. I love that you are posting for us to learn. I will join your patron soon. I'm retired so I am planning more time with pastels.

Thank you! It was quite tricky in places and the pencils are so useful for this. Hopefully I can break it down in the tutorial so that everyone can have a successful go at it!

Love this and your teaching method. How long did this actually take to complete?
@EmmaColbertArt10 күн бұрын
Thank you! This took between 8 and 9 hours in total. But I was also chatting during the process for the tutorial series so was pausing to talk about colours etc. So that was quite a relaxed painting speed and lots to talk about along the way! :-)

I never knew that about photographing the velour. Not that I have used it yet as I work more broadly and impressionistic so gravitated to the rougher sanded papers. I’m curious to try now. The prices have doubled since your video. It’s quite an expensive medium now.
