This is the best travel documentary, you made me love Norway so much. I wish i can go there oneday. they way you took your time to narrate and showcase almost all the details about the country was just top notch. I wish to see more documentaries, because i have watched each of your videos, and i love them all. FYI Norway must be the most beautiful country in the world.

Thank you SO much for this beautiful video. I left my precious islands this year, having spent many years living on the Faroes. I will re-visit often via your video! I particularly like your pacing, the daskboard camera coverage as you drove and the way you simply let nature speak through running water, waves, bird sounds, sheep, wind, silence... You really captured the essence of the islands!

The US military has a bad habit of making a mess around the world and leaving it for the locals to tidy up. The Marshall Islands are a horrible reminder of that… sad to see that on such a beautiful landscape.

I only watched two-thirds of the video, by then I figured you wouldn't be doing any hiking so my interest waned. As a consequence I don't know for sure whether you advised people of the sanitary arrangements - but in case you didn't I do feel visitors need to know that there is no plumbing and therefore no "water closets". Even in Tasillaq you do your number twos in a bucket - which gets collected by the "night soil" collectors in the morning - if you are lucky.
@LucasTJahn16 күн бұрын
Your visit to Tasiilaq must have been many years ago because every single one of the three accommodations we stayed at had running water toilets. Even the hut in Tinit had a clever combustion toilet, so no buckets for us.
@LeifurHakonarson14 күн бұрын
@@LucasTJahn Well, it was in 2007. We also stayed at the school in Kummiut (as it was known then) - we were overjoyed to discover modern looking cubicles in the toilet area. Imagine our disappointment when we discovered that inside each cubicle was a "modern looking" bucket 🙂The four day backpacking trip was great however, we never met a single person (except some inuit in a boat who were catching trout or salmon at a river mouth). In Tiniteqilaaq we stayed at what I think was called the "system house" - it was where the village's communal washing machines were located. Again - buckets. The problem is that there is no soil (where there are streets the electrical lines are shielded by metal coverings), the houses are built directly on bedrock. No soil means no plumbing. I knew that the hotels (of which there were two as I recall) had WCs - but private homes (we stayed at one of those) did not. leifur.smugmug.com/Outdoors/2007/08-160807-Gr%C3%A6nland

Yeah, between 2007 and 2023 many things have changed, even in East Greenland. Many for the better, some possibly for the worse. I know that more and more private homes in Tasiilaq have plumbing by now. The one private home we stayed at in town also had properly functioning toilets. As far as I am aware, the product of these toilet visits ends up in the fjord 😅 Even in Tinit, we were delighted to discover our private hut came with electricity, a heater, and a fancy incineration toilet. Definitely better than a bucket, even a 'modern looking one' 😂 Just checked out the images of your trip. Wow, you had some fabulous weather and the views of the mountains, glaciers, and valleys are just marvelous. Definitely makes me want to go back and head out on an extended hiking trip! This part of the globe still remains pleasantly untouched and wild. Also saw images from your adventures around Iceland - frankly, one of our favorite countries around the world. The diversity is just staggering. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2,5 months last year :)
@LeifurHakonarson16 күн бұрын
A number of years ago a group of us hiked from the "Sun Port" to what was then known as Tiniteqilaaq. I thought you were fibbing until I discovered they had actually changed the name of the village to Tiilerilaaq.

Hi! I love this documentary about Morocco! I am about to visit and i notice you have photography gear similar to mine. Did you use a protective case against sand? If so, which one? Thank you!
