When you have been an immigrant from Portugal for 8 years and you see such a well-conceived documentary of some of the wonders of your beloved Portugal, you cannot see it without shedding a few tears in a mixture of nostalgia and pride for what is your country, especially seen through the eyes of a foreigner my big thanks for this beautiful production. Portugal is breath taking, stunning!!! The Earth entire Earth is. Our CREATOR speaks through CREATION. It's nonsensical to disbelieve in a SUPREME BEING. The Earth has been designed just as the Human Body, the animals and insects bodies. What's disturbing is the building that has all the human skulls and bones decorating the building. It's SICK and disrespectful to the dead, not to mention creepy!!!

Portugal is a truly magnificient country not only with its history, geography and the like but also with its people. The Portugeese are one of the most decent, honest, natural, polite yet modest peoples in the world. I spent three years in Lisbon, the best three years of my life.
@ericastier1646 Жыл бұрын
I met only one maybe two Portuguese and your description fits perfectly. I think the fact that it remained a modest country with strong living traditions, artisanship and crafts is what makes the difference. When a country is beset by money speculators, bankers in collusion with the currency printing central bank, basically all parasites that produce nothing and have a negative effect on its society, the principle of people feeling they can trust each other in fraternity and share a common destiny is oppressed and replaced by evil and they are forced to serve bad interests and industries that only keep those parasites rich. It's what is going on in usa. Not by coincidence, Portugal historically expelled this kind of parasites in the 15th century maybe that is food for thought for countries like the usa.

Fantastic documentary! Your story-telling is wonderful. We've been living in Portugal for 3+ years now making videos here, but we have yet to portray the nature and history in such beautiful fashion. I'd like to see you do more niche documentaries where you pick narrower topics such as Madeira or the Azores only. That would be interesting too and perhaps that would increase your output also, so you don't have to travel through an entire country each video, haha!
@LucasTJahn3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your comment! Madeira and the Azores are definitely on our list for solo-documentaries each, haha :D We definitely love to portray an entire country as best as we can, but we fully agree that it will get very difficult with larger countries. Those little houses where cereals are stored, the granaries, are in fact of Germanic origin (from "Pommern"). Portugal, particularly the northwest of Portugal, has a Germanic rib due to the Suevi who founded a kingdom (Suevi Kingdom "Schwaben") in the year 411 ad. with capital in Braga. It was the first Christian kingdom in Europe. Portugal is a box of surprises. 👌 Viel spaß !

I just wanted to say thank you to you Lucas for this lovely vlog of Portugal you put out. It was almost 10 months ago that we first saw this video and decided we wanted to move to Portugal. I have a Portuguese heritage but was born in South Africa and now live in Canada. It never once occurred to me that my heritage might be so rich and the country so diverse and beautiful. You have opened our eyes to a whole other world and way of life that rings true with my innermost core. We will be setting out to Portugal next year and be staying... for a while. :) Thank you and kindest regards to you and yours. E&B
