Stumble onto this video, finally the algorithmic gods have gotten it right. Great video, enjoyed it, and weirdly enough I kinda want to visit east Germany now. Btw the B&W images had some really nice ring to them. And welcome to the monochrome side, you may never leave and we don't have cookies only anxiety ;)

Great photos of one of my favourite cities in Europe such a shame about the crime and the attitude of some people in the city. Now that I’m rocking a Leica M6 I will eventually go back and take the photos I have always wanted to take their. I used to visit Barcelona every weekend for 4 years and only had the nerve to use my phone because of the crime rate but you’ve inspired me to go back.

I loved the clip. I have a Canon TX, an FTb, and a literally new 1971 F1. The FTb has been worked to death and has lost a good percentage of it's black paint. Although the F1 is definitely my favourite, the problem is maintaining its new condition. The FTb and the F1 have lot in common, with the FTb being the backup camera to the F1. I love them both, with F1 staying at the top of the class.📷📸👌 I guess I love pre 1980's Canons

does that priam have a built-in meter or do you use a handheld one before taking the pictures?
@nicarnold20 күн бұрын
It’s the PME51 and yes it has a built in light meter which I barely use under conditions like these because f8/500 and 💥. Using an app for metering most of the time.

@@nicarnold Yes, I could tell that it were not the A1 with modern glass. Modern lenses often "just" makes a blue/green streak where you can see a gazillion lens elements 😏 no fun at all 😂

great video, love the Hasselblads, I have one of my own, a 500c/m but I do safer subjects, buildings and seascapes, street 'art' etc. have an 80,120 macro and a 180 for it, beautiful lenses PS what lens is that? doesn't look like a common one. one tip, to save carrying all that weight, I use a tripod on mine, still a 2Kg rig (bag and all), but the tripod does allow me to be smoother, esp. changing lenses, using filters, etc., even for your portraits, a MONOPOD would be a great help, to stabilise the weight, so you don't have it on the shoulders all the time.

I say this with love, and I say it while holding my F1 in my hand over my heart, but this is the only guy who I think bought a Canon F1 to be the portable, lighter weight, easier to handle camera. Don't get me wrong, I love the weight of this thing, I wouldn't trade it for any lighter SLR, but this is certainly the first time I've heard it referred to as simply a lighter easier to carry around type of film camera. It makes sense, medium format cameras are obviously going to be bigger, but I just find it hilarious

The F1 is certainly a top camera but you have to to also admire the magnificent Canon A1. It's less "modular", I agree but I've had F1 Canons in the past and sold them - and kept my trusty 47 year old A1. As I've gotten older, I appreciate the benefits of autofocus cameras (ie, Canon EOS 1n, Nikon F100 or F5 for instance). Nonetheless, every so often, I dust off the A1, load it up with TMax 400, and go for a leisurely stroll.....
@nicarnold3 ай бұрын
That might be true. My F1 just stopped working. The film advance lever is kinda stuck and only advanced once I turn the shutter lock on. And even then it stays stuck sometimes. Anyway, I never have had it CLAed which I should probably do and it will be fine for the next ten years.

Theres something so peaceful shooting relatively mundane landscapes. While cool mountains and waterfalls provide excitement. I find myself slowing down more and becoming more in touch with the process when there are no obvious compositions to distract me

Hi, I have been enjoying the locations you have chosen to take photos at. To be honest I don’t always agree with pov of horizon or placement of subject but I still enjoy the images. What is disappointing is not mentioning the roll of film you are using. I’m in the process of determining which film stock to invest my time with instead of purchasing different films for testing. With this current location my guess is Kodak Gold but please correct if I am wrong. I understand you don’t want to make the video about gear but you do if you mention the lenses. Please consider mentioning the film type so we all can see how the film renders colors. Thank you for sharing.

You’re absolutely right! Will try and do it better in future videos. Also, please consider following my threads or Insta as I sometimes post images from my videos with a bit more info in the description. Also Gold 200 has become my go to film stock. It’s just the best value and very close to Portra imho. If I don’t state otherwise it’s Gold in my videos just so you know.
