Thank you for creating this beautiful family boating video about Topock. Or was it about healthy family fun boating on one of the most beautiful places in the Americas? 35 years ago I vowed to visit every lake on the Colorado river. No, I am about 9/10 successful. The water at 2Pac is clear and cold. One place I love is the north end on the west side of Lake Havasu. Tell your motor all the way up in float gently with the wind and the current. You will go from shallow to dragging the bottom where you might have to get out and push. The fish are fantastic and everywhere. Be sure to bring light tackle. They will find your boat and swim back-and-forth around you. You can see them clearly in that sparkling water with the sand just 12 inches down. God bless your family. Check out into the wild. Also a beautiful treatment of Topock.

@SBFDmedic Topock is the name of the unincorporated town. Golden Shores is housing development within that town. There is only one official Post Office in the area and the sign the building says Topock 86436. The original Topock is where three Topock 66 bar is on the river. They moved the town to where it is now. The original one-room Post Office was moved into town years ago and is used by the Topock Art Guild. Cheers!

@kevpwhite Жыл бұрын
Hi, it has been years since I been there. We camped though. I think you may need to have camping reservation. Also, the tubes where given to us at the place. We drove one truck to the top and left one at the bottom. Then we drove the bottom truck to go recover the top one. Our camp ground was at the bottom so everyone else stayed behind.

Greetings, so with the Skydio 2, is the beacon waterproof so that I can use it to track me surfing? If not, if I place the beacon in a waterproof pouch and stick down inside my wetsuit or shirt will the drone still track me well-accurately while I’m surfing?

I used a water proof arm band made for a phone. I threw the beacon in there on my chest part of the wet suite. It isn't to accurate and works, but it gets sketchy when a wave breaks. A few times I though a wave was going to take it. It flies really low to the water.

Yea it's fun, but make sure to check surfline for swells and wind forecast. I surf a lot so I can read the oceans well. The pacific is no joke. Also I had a radio for calling harbour master, GPS, US boat tow, and made a plan to stay incase the weather turned. You can get mooring but they not always available. We used a heavy duty off shore anchor cause we couldn't get one. The ride back was wet. Read more about mooring here. Most important thing is to read the swells and wind forecast. Have fun! www.visitcatalinaisland.com/things-to-do/two-harbors/boating/mooring-info-and-rules/

I have a stingray 180lx as well. im going to make the trip this summer . With your video im sure it’s possible. Did you put your trim down and ride your bow high to avoid the splashes ? Usually at 10 mph you can do it with the rpm a bit higher then usual but your bow is up there avoiding the splashing waves. Any suggestions?

Keep me in mind too if you want a caravan of boats . Im in !

I read the ocean swells on surfline before I went. I left early to get a flat ocean, the way back was rough. I did it with two boats. I would be down, but I sold my boat. I am looking at ski's right now. I would suggest going with a buddy, check your bilge pump works, have a radio for harbor master, GPS cause clouds can screw you up, and make sure to have a plan to stay on the island if it gets bad. When the water was choppy I had to use my trim and cruise slow with the nose up. Having a open bow is not the best for this trip not to mention the small free board the stingray's have. It's doable, I have done it 4-5 times in that boat, but I always took those precautions. Good luck!

Do they recommend hook size, lures, and pole size to bring?
@kevpwhite3 жыл бұрын
I would give a local bait shop a quick call those guys have the best local knowledge. We used bait fish mainly or squid. The bait fish are provided on the boat. I also get my hooks at the local bait shop they are another good resource. As far a pole size nothing to big is needed unlesss you get lucky and hook up on a big one, which is unlikely on these cattle boat. We mainly scored small white fish and sea bass.
