im trying to decide between keeping my ekster aluminum or getting the double oak slim . had the ekster for 2 years and the mechanism still works great so the catching on your new double oak is turning me off a bit

Haha fair enough, but all of the wallets I have reviewed and am in the middle of reviewing (almost 40 of them at this point) have been gifted to me by the brands (except one that was gifted by a family member. At this point, if I purchase a wallet, that causes bias.

Sorry, I don't have any feedback on that one! However its around the size of a credit card, and maybe 3/4 of an inch thick when it has 7 cards in it.

i have the ridge forged carbon pacific. bought it because i wanted a front pocket minimalist wallet for my recent travel. at my time traveling i did love how easy it was to just reach inside my front pocket and take out my most used credit card but when it came time to use my other cards it was difficult to do. and to have a better understanding on my setup i have four credit cards and one debit card plus my id license total of 6 that i took for my travel. recently, i just ordered an aviator slide one to compare the usability and ease of use on both to see which one I'll take for my oncoming travel

Good video. I would have liked more if there is more information on advantages and disadvantages of all the wallets. Like for example using ridge wallet when you are in a shop, if you card is in the middle of the pack, you will have to take out every card and find for your right one and all the cards are clearly visible to everyone around. And does Eskster wallet offers warranty on the wear and tear for paying such a high price. Thanks

Hey buddy, you are really good at reviewing wallets. I believe a lot of us are waiting for you to review wallets from OPEN SEA LEATHER, THE LOST DUTCHMAN, WILLOW CRAFT, SADDLEBACK LEATHER, CRAFT & LORE, RUSTIC HEIRLOOM, SPEAKEASY LEATHER, LOYAL STRICKLIN, POPOV, ASHLAND...etc. You can give advice on vegetan or CXL, and the shell cordovan. Please start with the leathers because plastic and metal ones when getting scratches don't look good. Unlike full grain leathers, the more scratches, darker with patina, it's becoming more beautiful. You can pass the wallet to your kids for them to understand how beautiful leather is.

I like this wallet BUT it is FAR from truly useable. It is so slick that it makes it EXTREMELY difficult to use without the little sticky pad. The sticky pad fell off on mine which renders it pretty useless. I now find myself trying to figure out how to modify it to make it useable. I just ordered the code 118 wallet so I’ll see how i like that one.

@@Gear_43 i received my code 118 wallet yesterday. First impression is that is is not to the quality as is the Groove wallet. The code 118 seems to be made from some extremely light aluminum. The action on the code 118 is also not as crisp as the Groove wallet. I did modify my Groove wallet by buying self adhesive anti slip rubber from Ace hardware. I then took an extremely sharp knife and sliced it to make it thinner and stuck it on the wallet. It works perfect now. I am still going to try the code 118 wallet for a while and see how it works out.

I think the ridge wallet only made it so high in the list due to sentimental value. Ridge wallets aren’t very user friendly and they are pretty boring.

I'd actually disagree with that, I have a few different Ridge wallets now, and I find that if I'm looking for something slim that isn't noticeable in my pocket, I end up reaching for one of their products. Thats coming from someone with over 30 minimalist wallets at this point.

I bought one of these for car camping and did not realize how much I would love it. Shortly after buying it, my electric coffeemaker took a dump so I use this every day now. I just heat the water up in the microwave 2 mins or so. One level scoop and add a bit more water at the end and creamer. I love it!

Ekster damaged some of my cards. They easily wear out and scratches easily. So I focus niw on full grain leather wallets.

@Gear_43 Man, I started looking at aluminium card wallets and thought it'll be easier to use. Until I bought Ekster in Amazon. First, they gave me a worn out cardholder. I reported it, then they sent me again a more scratched wallet. Then the one that was not sent back I used which damaged my cards. Then I thought these metallic wallets when aged they look and function bad. Unlike full grain or top grain leather wallets, which ages beautifully and functioning great. And there are a large of group if people who love patina on their wallets. So I bought from Open Sea Leather and I never looked back. Then I look for more frome other brands and I noticed that the rustic look for me is winner. And the SMELL of the leather is adicting!!! Now I am in a hunt for oil tanned leather....love the pulping.

Its hard to make a decision between the Ekster Pro, Double Oak, Ridge etc. I think I've narrowed it down between Double Oak or the Ekster, Ekster seems to be more reasonable for price point and they have been getting alot of good reviews. Personally, I am glad they added the money clip! Money clip looks great, and if you don't use it for cash you can clip to the pocket of your sweatpants or shorts to keep the wallet in-tact if you're wearing loungewear or active wear!

I definitely can, but its not exactly user friendly when compared to the competition. Rather than being able to access everything easily in one place, its scattered throughout the device. I really like the Nomad, and have used it a ton, but this is one drawback.

I’m looking for a wallet that doesn’t destroy my cards. My ridge wallet is destroying my credit cards numbers are rubbing off , plastic film pealing off . I want a wallet where my cards are not rubbing together
