UPDATE: This process did make the car run better, but a crack in the flexable rubber intake tube between the MAF sensor and the intake manifold was what caused the fault code. Replacing that tube solved the issue and the idle is now very smooth.

@@SonicBoomC98 yeah apparently the size of the line is a pretty big deal. You wouldn't think it would make that much difference, but it can make the motor overheat if the line is heavier than recommended.

All the seed stock I've used has been from melons that I bought at the grocery. Except for one package that I bought several years ago, and I don't recall the type of that seed other than just Honeydew. I've used Sta-green fertilizer and magnesium-sulfate to stimulate growth.

It just twists off. It's difficult to remove after it's been used for a while so you might have to really work at it, or you can gently pry the mating surfaces apart. Just be careful not to damage it. I use grip-gloves when I'm removing anything that twist off.

Thank you. Mine just ran out of line and I was terrized on what it might take to rewire this. Wow never thought it could be this easy. I did what you showed and it worked perfectly. My line didnt have any markings on it but all you do is keep feeding it until both ends are equal length then start turning the knob. PS Since your giving kudos to Ryobi I should mention for others, my string trimmer is a replacement for a gas powered Poulan and I finally got tired to try and get started, mix gas, oil the whole thing. The reason Ryobi is they do accept other attachements. I had an edger, a string trimmer and a blower and they all work with it so the new electric trimmer for 189 at homey depot was worth it since I had all the other tools already. When I finally give in to the electric mower it will be a Ryobi as well because the batteries are the exact same for the mower as the trimmer. Again thanks for the help.

@accidental_relevance
@accidental_relevance 2 ай бұрын
Several people have mentioned this issue, but no one has shared what they found out. It's really difficult to see the locking mechanism up inside there, but I would think a locking tab has broken off somehow. Probably will need to be replaced.
@jsimmons4643
@jsimmons4643 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your response. It doesn't appear anything is broken, but that could be the reason why it was difficult to unlock and will not move back into the lock position. I purchased this trimmer less than a month ago. This is the first time the line needed replacing. If the locking mechanism is fragile to the point that it would malfunction prior to initial unlocking, this is clearly a serious design flaw. Ryobi and Home Depot should concede to this flaw and replace the head or entire trimmer.

I got my line replaced, Thanks. But I have another issue. Maybe you can offer a suggestion. I haven't used the trimmer since last year, and when I replaced the line the trimmer would only run on high speed for 2 seconds at a time then stop. I tried 4 different batteries and it does the same with all. One battery was one from the charger that I had just mowed with. I doubt the battery is the issue. I can run it longer if I hold the button to about half speed. but when the trigger is fully depressed it will stop after 2 seconds. Any ideas?
