There are many different things the crash sites need. Sometimes you'll just have to bookmark them and come back when you're reached another tier. One tip, though, is to use the old Greek labyrinth trick: Bring enough wire to set up power poles everywhere you go. Sometimes the crash sites need power, so that's solved without you backtracking, and you now have a trace of where you've been. To fight the beasts more effectively, kill a few more. You'll be able to research MUCH better weapons and ammunition in the MAM with those parts they drop. Also, you can simply place a different level of conveyor belt on a different one to replace it. No need to deconstruct. Also also: Is that a sword or a chainsaw in your inventory? If it's a sword, you should toss the zapper and use that instead.

You only need pumps when the water goes up hence its called headlift. As long as your water doesnt travel 10 meters above your water extractor you dont need a pump. Sometimes with long pipelines you just have to wait for a while before the water reaches its destination. Water in this game just behaves a bit weird lol

Interesting and good tip! I thought maybe I could use a pump to add some sort of pressure to help the water flow but if it’s only for going up I guess it was pretty useless lol

Get used to ripping down and rebuilding your factories - especially as you unlock alternate recipes (hard drive hunting from crashed pods). It gets a lot easier once you unlock blueprints to set up blocks of machines (with their conveyors, pipes, and power lines).

@@TheMoonLee Blueprints are well worth learning. You can plop down your most common combinations of machinery (like 4 constructors in a row with power lines), build road/hypertube sections with labels in one click, or even building segments to quickly slap together a modular factory.

The coal power plants use 45 m^3 water. 45 * 3 = 135, which is more than one water extractor puts out (120), unless you overclock it with a power shard.

8 coal gens and 3 water extractors per 120 (pure node or 2 normal nodes with an MK1 miner). MK belts required to keep them all running. Turn them all off, wait for them to fill completely (the coal will take a bit) then turn them on for a constant 600mw

I'd recommend bringing the coal to the water rather than the other way around. Makes it easier to do a balanced, optimised water distribution setup. You currently don't have quite the belt speeds you need for the best generator setup though. Ideally, you want 8 generators per 300 per minute of coal (when overclocked equally, this continues working smoothly), and 3 extractors sending water to them. With a pure coal node, you can easily handle 6:16 setups, but that requires Mk.5 belts. For the water planning, just remember that water flows both directions, so it sloshes around in the pipes and gives you headaches until you figure out some ways to load-balance the flow ;)

I'd recommend thicker foundations for better elevation, since it costs the same. 2m and 4m works better with the heights of ramps and other things, while the thinnest plates' 0.5m thickness doesn't go well with anything. The thin ones are fine for ceilings though (which you'll need if you want to hang some ceiling lights in dark, huge factories). Everything looks disgusting initially ;) The steps I follow: 1.Make it work. 2.Make it work well. 3.Make it look half-decent. 4.Upgrade machines after I reach tier 2 miners and conveyors. 5.Add more refiners. 6.Have a fit of rage when tier 3's numbers don't match any damn thing.

good video! just a tip 19:00 you said you put your phone on the space bar. you dont have too, all you have to do is tap spacebar to continuously craft, you dont have to hold it down. quick tip on the DNA capsules. basically when you sink things you get points. but the number of points you need for a ticket goes up each time. but they keep track of DNA points separate from parts points. you just researched the DNA capsules in the MAM, so now you take enemy parts, turn them into proten, then turn them into DNA to sink. its an early way to get a bunch of points. of course you can have a factory process your DNA as well.

The resources nodes were placed on the map *before* the update that added the world grid, so they don't line up - mostly you'll have to live with it. There are tricksy ways to work around it using an unlikely item you'll likely get later, but even then it's not obvious how. Also it's best to use 2m or 4m foundations to start on the world grid, (not the 1m ones).

One quick bit of information that isnt obvious. Biomass burners only burn the fuel they need. They never waste fuel.
