The resources nodes were placed on the map *before* the update that added the world grid, so they don't line up - mostly you'll have to live with it. There are tricksy ways to work around it using an unlikely item you'll likely get later, but even then it's not obvious how. Also it's best to use 2m or 4m foundations to start on the world grid, (not the 1m ones).

Additional tip while h is active holding control key allows half meter nudge

Early game is more or less expected to be a mess, if my 2 cents helps, i would rush for the next tier (once you get there it will feel like a god send) and keep exploring.

@@TheMoonLee Next tier allows for a power source that's both more robust and fully automated, once set up. No more gathering leaves! 9 of 10 would rush.
