I think it was at this moment that Scarlett realized that Melanie was the best friend she ever had. I mean think about it, even when Scarlett was a complete jerk to her Melanie never judged her or condemned her. She loved Scarlett in spite of all her faults and even defended her. Melanie was one of those rare people who could love a person unconditionally for who they were even if they never changed or showed the same love back to her.

That is the reason they don’t make commercials like that anymore. People are entertained by it but forget the product being advertised. I am somewhat surprised that it was not effective since she danced on top of the can featuring the name of the soup. They also said the name The Great American Soup several times in the commercial.

Just discovered this in 2024 as I am watching Turner classic movies channel in the film. Rome Adventure came on. This is the most beautiful Italian song I've ever heard! (I like Andrea Bocelli, I like Pavarotti sometimes, and I even love Aretha Franklin's version of Nessun Dorma but nothing tops this song. It is beautiful!) ❤

Seems like laura was a really good friend im have to rewatch the movie because in some of the comments made it seem like she wasn't actually she took care of Annie and Sarah Jane and when Laura career took off she made sure they were still taking care of , in the beginning of their friendship they were both single mothers helping each other out Laura let Annie and Sarah Jane stay with her im have to watch the original version and remake.

Somewhere in the blood line (perhaps from the dad) there was unadulterated evil. Sara Jane was no doubt, devil's spawn/sp...erm. This drove SJ to emotionally abuse and reject her own mother. No matter how long Anne lived, the SJ would have always dishonored her.

The Barbarella songs were written by Bob Crewe & Charlie Fox, whom Bob discovered when Charlie was still playing piano in latin bands in NYC in the mid-60s... Fox & Crewe did several instrumental albums around the time of BARBARELLA-- both outstanding: "IN CLASSIC FORM" (With Bhen Lanzeroni on piano) and "LET ME TOUCH YOU". Bob and Charlie were both inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame over the following years and stayed close friends their entire lives.

I remember being a kid watching my older siblings mom and grams watch this movie and be in tears, and I was too young to understand what was happening… but you better believe I have seen this movie countless times since I was a kid and I cry every time and I always just wanna burn Sarah Jane at the stake 🤬and remember not to because Annie loved her and this is not a real movie 😂lolbut this scene and Mahalia singing on right after just sends me every time😢
