I am a gold bar plated holidayer. I was considering spending my millions, but on review of the rooms I find there is not enough velvet or gold on display. Most disappointing, looks like the For Seasons Dubai again this xmas

It's so nice to see hotels that ban people of color. It keeps with it's history.

No people of color allowed unfortunately.

My parents took us to stay at Chateau Frontenac during the Shamrock Conference or Summit or whatever they called it. Politics. In the 80’s. I remember the gold doors and and gold trim on everything ❤️😊 We were told, as regular guests, that we weren’t allowed to use a certain set of elevators. The elevators were secured for the political people. My parents of course were acquiescent. Wouldn’t you know, after we’ve all settled in, been there at least a day, we heard a knock on the door. Opened it to see my brother sandwiched between two armed security force dudes.. and he was being delivered back to us. The loveable twit had taken the elevator he wasn’t supposed to 🙄🤭 he stuck close to fam the rest of the vacation lol

M. Hall - Thank you for the tour of the lovely Chateau Frontenac. My wife and I were engaged at the Chateau on Jan 12, 2001 (in room 3259) and we hoping to return to celebrate our 20th engagement anniversary in Jan of 2021. Sadly, it seems the current COVID situation will prevent us from making that trip due to Canadian restrictions on travel within Canada. If there is any option that would permit our Jan 12 celebration, please reach out. Best regards - James Price - San Antonio, TX

They should have kept it in a late victorian style as it already was. I understand the thing about making it look 《 new and trendy 》 but most people want to see it as it was when built. That is what gives the realm charm and makes it kind of a museum at the same time.

What we do best in Canada. Take something historical and ruin it. If people and corporations want to build a modern hotel, build a modern hotel, don't ruin an historical building like the Château Frontenac. I'm sure glad I was able to stay there before Fairmont got their greedy hands on it and ruined it.

whirlydervish18 At the forefront of our renovation project is the wish to preserve and renovate this icon of Quebec’s heritage and ensure its continuity to meet the highest expectations. As such, existing historic details and materials have been preserved throughout the project and the introduction of new design styles is respectful of the hotel’s history.

How offensive and disrespectful to Chateau Frontenac's history. People do not come here for sleek, cold modernism. They come for the opulence, and the history.
