I love it! I was told by my luthier that they are different from the originals which were pretty bad. I did have to have mine re-fretted. A level would not repair how bad the guitar was. It would not stay in tune and developed dead frets. I was going to make a video on it, still might. But a re-fret later the guitar sounds great, stays in tune. Be careful of QC on these guitars would be my only caution, hope that helps and you find a good one!

Hi mate, came across your chanel about a week ago, enjoy your videos, great tones and playing. I am looking at getting a EVH, probably a EL34 and a captor x. I will probably just be playing at home and possible jamming. I have always had 100 watt heads in the past and I like the idea of having a dedicated clean chanel EQ but am considering just getting a 50 watt. Do you think it is worth the extra money for the 100 watt? I have been an Axe Fx user for the past 5 years or so but want to get back to a more simple set up, less tweaking and more playing. Cheers mate
@X9Eric26 күн бұрын
Hey @horizonxx_1 thank you so much for the kind words! IMHO the 100 is voiced differently than the 50 watt. The 50 is a great amp but the 100 is way more angry and modern. When I owned the 50 and struggled with if I should spend the $$$$ to get the 100 or not. Ultimately I did and I do not regret it. ( 5:29 ) IMHO the 100 watt EL34 is "THE" best most wicked sounding amp I have ever played through. Hope that helps! please let me know what you go with!!

Hey @TW-rn1by, to be honest I do not remember but the point of the video was to show why I use a boost pedal in front of an amp. It really does not matter which pedal you use. I also use a Boss SD-1 Super OverDrive to achieve the same thing. Hope that helps!

Had a 565 lazer blue for some time. It was cool but i sold it for a couple of things. First i wasn't sure what to do with it as i was still in some blues noodling phase. Another aspect is that i didn't like the color and texture of the neck. I expected it to look more yellow in a way. But maybe that's because i associate it with older guitars that are aged. Do you think you can change the color of the fretboard with lemon oil? I am considering purchasing another because for the price these are absolutely awesome guitars. Btw cool review

After owning and selling JP2C, 6534+, Mark V, EVH EL34, Fireball, EVH Iconic, Randall V2, Marshall DSL, and a Badlander with MR Scary mod... The Fireball was the only amp I regretted selling so I just picked up another Fireball, it is here to stay, the search is over (which makes my wife happy). I am hoping Engl makes a Savage 25. Love your vids Eric and appreciate included scriptures.

Wow @tomridge7772, you have some excellent taste and amazing experience with some of my dream amps! Never went with the Boogie's, but have often wondered about them!?! I originally kept the FB from this video and sold the Savage, but ended up selling the FB and rebuying the Savage Mk2. I'm a kook. Reason was the versatility ended up winning out for me, but the Sav Mk2 does not quite give you that killer punch that the FB100 does and there are times when I am wanting the Fireball again lol! btw (my wife laughed and agreed with your wife on this topic) What guitar are you playing these days?
@tomridge7772Ай бұрын
@@X9Eric HI ERIC!! I have a 1994 MIJ Jackson HX Stealth with SD Custom 5 (has 3 HB spots but I only use bridge/ play rhythm) and another 1996 MIJ Jackson with Custom 5 in bridge. It may seem silly to have same pickup but the Custom 5 is very similar to EMG 81 when using TS9 without the hassle of setting up for active pickup. the 1996 is very very deep as it is a heavier (weight) guitar than the 1994 which has the thinnest neck and light body. I have been out of recording but imagine double tracking them will compliment each other and so the same pickup makes sense in the long-term. Thank you for the reply and best to you and family.
