Diablo 1 is a true horror game. Diablo 2 or 3, (not played 4, but can pretty confidently say it is not horror) Diablo 2 and 3 have gore sure, but it's not the same. Diablo 1 actually made you scared, it was gritty, dark, foreboding, diablo 2 was kinda gruesome but it didn't have the same terror. I think the concept of diablo 1 was better, going down 1 dark dungeon, deeper and deeper; whereas diablo 2 you're running over endless fields, 3 tried to copy 1, but it wasn't scary at all

Playing Diablo for the first time when I was a young teen scared the shit out of me. I actually had to listen to Bob Marley "redemption song" on repeat to get through it. Good times

my family had an electronics store in the late 90s/early00s, I wanted this game but they wouldnt take product off the shelf for me, so they ended up making a bootleg copy of it for me and I never remembered it having music. it wasn't until it became freeware that I heard any music on it.

Какое музло, атмосфера😊 прямо кайф. Помню сидели с корешом по ночам играли, в таком напряжении. А с заставки и музыки, когда Лазаруса показывали, она ближе к концу, аж мурашки пробегали, каков злодей. Сейчас так не сделают, увы. Мультик и розовые пони, вот их курс. Д4 не далеко ушел от д3. Эмоций ноль, нет такого погружения в мир. Всё неестественно и наигранно, мультяшно. Я хотел бы видеть тёмные, кровавые коридоры, с отрубленными конечностями, стоны и крики из-за углов, насаженные на пики людишки, их головы, распятые младенцы и такое вот музло. Чтобы от страха, плакать почти хотелось. Ладно, мечты.

I got this gem on playstation. Me and my brother or any relative coming to visit wanted to coop and we always ended up shooting each others XD I guess it was a relaxing to compare what was coming ahead

It's the best Diablo game of the series. Dark, depressive, bone-chilling music. The storyline and storytelling are inspiringly damned. Blizzard would do well to re-release this game with just updated graphics - all else exactly the same.

I listen this every night, and at work. It gives me the feeling of being in a post nuclear war world in the far future where ecerything has deteriorated. Wearing a hoodie gives me such stalker and Fallout and Interstellar Vibes. I really like the slight sadness in the first track. Its like it's mourning over the world. Then the second (for me) is struggle, surviving, fighting, enduring...and then the final track sound like pure hope! Its like the new dawn of men, after all this and the believing in humanities progress comes back. You have no idea what masterpiece you composed.

This game was extremely ahead of it's time for sure - the soundtrack was fantastic, the enemy AI was decent, the unit rank ups, and design ended up being a staple of future RTS games. What a classic.

That's what i think too! I also thougt it had some of the Supreme commander 1 features already. Range circles would have been so useful in warzone 2100. But i love LOVE the custom unit creation. Which games else do have this? I dont know of any? Loved cyborg units allthough they were weak ans died too fast. Loved vtols. Loved the python tier3 rump. Loved destroying scavenger bases.

I can't be the only one who played this as a kid. I found it on a CD of games when I was 8. I played this all throughout school, I used to have a huge list of those big downloaded skirmish maps with dozens of oil rigs and play against bots. It was fun to see the massive 4 vs 4 wars on those big maps. I couldn't wait to get home from school at 6 pm and play more maps or continue the save. It was wars that were going on endlessly for hours. Spams of howitzers, rocket launchers, and a massive fight between two teams in the center of the map trying to advance towards the other half while shells and rockets fly from all over the map. It was my favorite game growing up. I wouldn't change Warzone 2100 for any other game to have played in my childhood. I heard this soundtrack so much when I was young that it will forever be a part of me. Hearing it it's like coming home. Production completed!

Tristram music - A strange, lone wolf or complicated human's life who want to calm and chilling on the outside at night but something danger & tragedy are getting near be like.. Cave music - Demonic Halloween party festival music be like with a hellish guitar kicks in the dark be like.. Dungeon/Cathedral music - Dark ritual and horrific sacrificial be like.. Cathacomb music - An atrocious smell and horrifyingly miserable sound of the spirit of the dead inside the hellish underworld be like... Hell music - An unimaginable boiling sound of sea of fire & lava with unreal intense heat and feeling while demon at the gate of hell & inside hell are shouting and singing be like...

The Tristram theme, obviously brilliant, has a similar vibe to the Resident Evil save room music-just the right amount of safety with trepidation. Sure, you are safe, but you are only one door away from danger.

Diablo really lost their edge. This was so dark to me, especially as a kid. D3 was all pretty and raibow unicorns. D4 did better, but none of them will carry the same horror burden as Diablo 1.

I mean the relief you felt when you hear the Tristram music after going through a portal scroll after a horrible battle with demons, centaurs , dogs, succubuses, evil wizards or whatever was down there.
