Ahh you muslim havnt seen this side off life yet, devorce has been much more common since the early 90's. The beginning of the Internet age and cell phones probably didn't help, a few of my childhood friends' mothers had affairs with men they met online chat rooms back then and left their husband. My parents are divorced, and it was a very difficult period for my dad. I now walk with God as an adult, but my love and faith is with jesus.

Asalaamu Alaikum, I have heard so many Imams say that a khula is considered a divorce lately and I even tried to explain what Allah SWT has specified in the Quran and why we return the dowry for our freedom with only one month iddah period. I just don't get where this has come from. Also, some are recommending that muslims get married legally in with the courts first before Islamic marriage. Or making it a stipulation to get married in their masjid by their Imam.

Well I mean respect is a given in that religion. Because a woman is only half a man so says Muhammad. If in court two women shall count as one man. Rights are earned, never given. Since a woman cannot have two or more husbands. Also with the Taliban stating women cannot be heard and shall not speak to one another. They are also banning windows for areas where women labor as not not insight behavioral issues with men in said areas. If Allah and God are the same I question why they work so differently from Christianity. Ones prophet promotes peace and died for all our sins. The other invaded Mecca and killed all their men and was poisoned by one of the widows left in his wake.

If the woman has children from another marriage it is not the duty of the new husband to provide for them. The children are supposed to go to the biological father once they become of age (12-13 yrs old for a girl and 5 yrs old for a boy). I would consult with a traditional scholar or Mufti.

As-salaamu Alaikum. @hughjazz2390, I believe you’re correct as It’s not even the right of a man to have one wife nor is it the right of a woman to have a husband or is it!!!smh. Marriage is encouraged but is it obligatory..hmmm! All depends on how you look at it. Either way, there are conditions that must be met as a husband and likewise as a wife. Both the husband and wife are both due their haqq in any case. I can see the argument for allowance as well as rights…but at the end of the day we have to rely on the evidence and the wisdom of Allah (swt)

A woman must obey her husband to qualify for those rights ...

Plus polygyny is exhausting. Always trying to find time for both partners can be a chore. With that If you spend too much time one partner the other might get jealous and it just turns into a shit show. So Monogyny for me. Way more stable and manageable.

Be careful with certain things that is said in this video he brings no proof or evidence for what he is say polygny is absolutely the right of every man who is upright religious and is able because that's what Allah said in the Quran marry woman of your choice 123 or 4 but if you feel you cannot be just with your time marry 1.also Ali Davis from imaam Muslim masjid just had a class reading from the books of jurisprudence of the scholars talking about how marrying women is not a package deal because the children are supposed to go with their father...some stuff that shadeed be saying be very misleading some stuff he on point but he changes the meaning of things because he is not reading directly from the books he is giving his opinion or view...so there no such criteria that a man has to be willing to take on a wife and her kids...that is a sadaqah if he is willing to but it's not a qualifying factor...

Salaams. Be careful brother it appears as if you’re confusing the text. Allah (swt) said that a man can have one,two,three or four wives. But one wife is best. I never saw the word according to you it’s a “allowance”.
