@NCTradLines4 сағат бұрын
@@wildawwg3468 the first two bolts. Those are the 5.10c moves. Everything else is like 5.8/9. It’s mostly very/slight over hanging so can be a bit pumpy. But, super fun.

Out of curiosity, what was the reason for the double draws on those early clips?
@NCTradLines2 күн бұрын
@@NDTLM good question. On the first clip. To be just a tiny tiny bit safer. Some people will put a locker biner. If you don’t have lockers. You can do this. It’s near a 0% chance of the rope coming out of a draw if you’re not back clipped. But it’s not a 0% chance. So, the double draws would help just a touch more if you were to fall. It was going to be near my limit. So a little more protection gave me more peace of mind.

Much better than just a helmet cam only climbing video. Those can be hard to watch like putting a helmet cam on a Simone Biles floor routine - or a nervous climber who looks around a lot or if there are a lot of options for hands and foot placement to look at. Looks like you put some work into editing back and forth between cameras. Whatever camera you are using besides the helmet cam I like better.

-Snap gate carabiners over an edge which risks opening the gates so I’d use lockers here. One carabiner is being levered over an edge which will cause bending stress, big no. -all those cams looked like they could have been closer to the edge so that the crabs were free hanging which eliminates both of the above problems and prevents your cord from rubbing on the edge too. -You created a master point but then clipped a hms to the master point to then clip yourself to the hms (?) - make sure the safety chain has as few points of failure as possible. -The same hms as above was clipped with gate facing towards the rock - clip it and flip it so the screw gate is down and out. This makes work so much easier with them, like 1 handed clove hitches. -speaking of clove hitches why not clove hitch straight into the first piece so you can chill out. Especially in a spot where you don’t have a ledge. -I wouldn’t bother wearing a pas when you have a rope attached to you, if you really need to go indirect you can use a quick draw I wouldn’t feel uncomfortable if my buddy did this but it highlights a lack of deep understanding of the theories behind anchor building and shows that this leader is either relatively inexperienced or stopped learning after developing the fundamental skill set, thinking that the basic knowledge of the IDEAS acronym was all they needed.
