Nice vid, really like your channel. A couple questions, I notice you normally rack only cams and some doubles and triples in certain sizes what are your thoughts on a cam only rack? Also, what would you consider your standard rack on a multipitch climb where you have to build anchors. cams (number and sizes) and draws (number)?

@@shawnhernandez1 cam rack only? That’s what I do most of the time. However, it fits our area. So, I would never recommend I less I knew the area well. Depending on the climb. Again. If I know it well. I’ll bring very little. If I don’t know it. At all. And am heading up a wall with no gear beta. Then, pretty much doubles of everything. Maybe single 0,.1, depending on what I can see from the ground. I’d rather be over weight with gear then not have the gear. Hope this helps! Again, it’s just what I do. Works well for me in NC. Hey, that rythmes!

@@NCTradLines Thanks for responding. I'm also in NC now and getting back into trad and would like to make some trips out to western NC but unfortunately I do not live close by so it would be a trek for me. It's nice to experience some vicarious thrills and get an idea of what works out there, all the best!

So I really think my small size makes the offwidth crux easier on me. I feel like it’s one hard move the entire pitch for me.

I watched your video a while back… If I recall, you squeezed through the offwidth. I tried that twice on follow. Couldn’t do it at 6’2”. My beta here worked really well for me. But, a bit reachy for you I presume!

Do you ever get your gear mixed up with other people’s gear? 😮
@NCTradLines2 ай бұрын
@@ryanptitmas that happens. I haven’t lost any gear yet or grabbed others. But, we usually mark our gear with colored tape or a mark of nail polish. I usually climb on my own gear. So that’s helpful to keep track

How much does all your gear weight when you start the climb?
