It's an artistic scandal that "Letters from War" has never received an English-language release.

Ein sehenswerter Film. So viel Wesentliches über das Leben und das Mensch sein. Und wer ist bereits es wahrzunehmen?

Another utterly gorgeous film from the Master of wry humor, pathos and compassion for humans flailing around to find connection in a world that seems set up to alienate people from each other.

This film is the version of Henric Ibsen's play, An Enemy of the People, set in Turkey in the 21st century. Much more harsh and political. On the one hand, how similar are the worlds... Geri bildirim Kullanıcıların yaptığı diğer aramalar

This film made a strong impression on me when I saw it in 2012, without knowing exactly why back then. Reaching her age in the film, I came to appreciate how she depicts our relationship with the inner critic, and the length we go to escape that voice, sometimes at the expense of forsaking ourselves. Shirtie is the security blanket. It's that part of you that is comforting, private but authentic. The more we desire something, the more we fear the complete lack of control over it and a potentially less than desired outcome. But you can't find true happiness running from away from yourself. Shirtie will reemerge, and remind you that you need to find and keep true to who you are.

@@f.g.9466 i did some more research and apprently the main period piece storyline was shot in soundstages in Portugal and the director intercuts this with documentary style shots of the locations in east asia the main characters are traveling through shot by people from the region in the last 4 years.
@f.g.94662 ай бұрын
@@feedyourhead434 I read that it was Miguel Gomes himself who recorded the footage from Asia during a research trip. Either way, combining old period piece storyline with modern shots is in style for him, he's known for having a certain level of "surrealism" in his work.
