I was a 20 year old Marine in Vietnam when I first heard Joan. Then I saw pictures of her and with that voice I fell in love. Yes I knew she was against the war I was fighting but I didn't care. I bought a tape player and her music and she got me thru many lonely and scary nights with my earphones wrapped around my head.
