Hi Tom: I just discovered your channel and I loved the video “How to calculate the intrinsic value”. You explain the concept brilliantly. I've been looking for the link to the template you mention in the video, but I haven't been able to find it. Is there any way to get it, even if I have to pay for it?

This is one of best demo video for boot-camp style of doing the work for those who enjoy doing it. Late 40s in finance/IT profession. I watched this video first video first almost a year ago. Then, when I wanted to do this boot-camp-calculation, I could not find this video. Spent numerous hours/days/weeks in try finding this video again, I could not. Finally, I found it today serendipitous. Very happy in finding this video again !

Hi Tom, Just revisiting this old favourite and keen on your thoughts.. As the stock based comp is a real cost would you say the cost to repurchase of shares is beneficial to shareholders when done correctly and the cost of this should be adding back in to the business's net cash for the purposes of the DCF? E.g. The dreaded 'BABA' currently has TTM FCF of ~ $14B, has issued $2.6B of shares however has repurchased $23B of stock over the TTM. Would you add this $23B form stock repurchases back into the net cash for purposes of the calculation or ignore it as it has reduced the overall share count? Cheers

Where did you go?? I recently found your channel and I personally love it!!!! It's the only channel that I found that looks at study cases based on total market cap value vs balance sheet/ bonds/ future income. I've been watching non stop these last 2 days. I think you're doing the study cases really great and would love more content. You hit the proper way to do security analysis spot on!!

When people say corporations are greedy, we can infer three truths about Costco: 1. Costco passes savings on to consumers as a matter of principle. 14% limit 2. They pay their employees well 3. Customers benefit from the savings, so Costco will continue to grow while other corporations go out of business. Capitalism works as long as you have competition and a goal to provide greater value.

The list: 1. Does it have a low P/E? 2. Is it a good business? ROIC, book value analysis, subtract things like real estate, goodwill, etc... 3. Who is running it (management) and how much do they own? check for things like lawsuits, voting rights 4. What was missed? Unseen, unique risks. Read Moody's or ValueLine to start screening

With buyback, You’re ownership goes up. Each share owns more of the company after they reduce existing shares. Share repurchases are better in my opinion. But if you don’t like that buy dividend stocks or growth stocks.

The issue with Korean companies...there's a lot of em that have negative enterprise value. Huge cash levels, real estate etc...but you as a shareholder will never see it. Koreans run their companies for their family. Not shareholders. At least that's what I hear from some Korean investors

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Selecting a good quality business is not a complex process. Valuing a business is not complex either. What is complex is separating human emotion that influences selection such as I like what a company is because they make great phones, cars and so on.

The value line datas don't show "earnings steadily tracking up at 30% a year". There were several down years, others with much faster growth. A PE ratio of 15 with 30% annual growth would still be very attractive.
