The dealerships aren't in the game to lose money... The data has shown time and time again that most people never get the money back out of an extended warranty. Through fine print, timing, restrictions, exceptions blah blah blah. The majority of people end up paying more for the warranty than they would for the covered repairs themselves. A small percentage of people may end up getting a significant repair covered, but that's few and far between.

I'd be interested to quiz the sales/finance rep and say "Can you name me something that's covered under the warranty" and when they name something on the list just say "Yeah.... that's not covered. I'm declining the warranty option"

Salesman- This car will last 300k miles no problem Finance Desk- You should really get the extended warranty. There could be problems 😂

Please be aware that Toyota Extra Care/ Vehicle Service Agreement/Insurance Dept. may cancel your VSA upon vehicle payoff. I paid off my 2023 Camry XSE V6 in July 2023 (purchased in January 2023). Received my payoff adjustment and GAP refunds in July. Then on Monday, October, 2, 2023 via USPS mail got a check from Toyota Financial Services. I reviewed my payments and realized it was for the amount of my VSA which I paid $1,840 for 10-years/100K miles. I called TFS as to why my VSA was cancelled. After 12 days of phone, Customer Support requests, and Toyota Brand Engagement advocate communications that Toyota finally admitted they cancelled my VSA by ERROR. Actually, someone screwed up when they were not Authorized to cancel my VSA but Toyota will not say they were wrong, Toyota said I had sent a letter and also submitted a customer support request to cancel it, but both are false and they realized it. Nothing like playing the blame game or for Toyota taking no responsibility. So, if you happen to have a VSA make sure that it is still effective/active because Toyota will try to take you for a ride. I had returned the TFS Check to a new mailing address as Toyota Motor Credit Corp is now PO Box 22171, Tempe, Arizona 85285 and was told the process will take 7 to 10 Business Days to Reinstate my VSA. Get a Platinum VSA providing you want to keep your Toyota Vehicle longer than 5 years such as 7, 8, 9, and 10 years. For peace of mind and in case of Toyota failures and in need of repairs. If you intend only to keep for 3 to 5 and half years it is best Not to get any extended warranty or VSA. Toyota has bumper to bumper for 3 years and 5 year powertrain. Why would you need a VSA if keep less than 5 or 6 years? You don't need a VSA. ... You can call any Toyota Dealership in the United States to receive a Platinum VSA Quote ... keep calling around until you get the Warranty Year/Mileage you want at good price. Most Dealerships where you purchase your new car generally hike up the VSA cost an extra $400 to $1,200. Call around before you buy the car and tell your dealer...I can get it from the other Toyota dealer for less money and a great Plan Code so please match the quote. Be sure to get the $0 deductible.

Put it this way, if something goes out after Warranty is up in nowadays modern vehicles......You are going to pay $$$$$$$$$ as most components are Electrical now. HE IS 100000% RIGHT.

Ok, so say you buy your extended warranty which takes your warranty from 2 years to 4 years. Then, your car has an issue at 4.5 years. You're still paying out of pocket and you wasted your money on the extended warranty which covered nothing in the first place because you didn't have an eligible repair in the first 4 years.

I just bought a 2022 Tacoma. I'm planning to Tow Max Capacity. My thinking is that the extended 150k warranty would be a good idea. Is there anything related to this that the warranty would not cover?

Never Cosign for anyone especially a vehicle. I cosigned for a niece and she has racked up more than $2,000 in tickets mostly EzPass and now I can't renew my registration because her vehicle has red flags all over it including driving without insurance. Taking advantage of a senior citizen.

Spoken like a true sales person lol. Extended warranties are such a scam it is unbelievable people fall for them. Dealerships make a crap ton of money off them, so of course they are going to recommend them.

Purchased my new 4Runner from Right Toyota Internet Dept. I would 100% recommend this place. We agreed to the price online. Came to the dealership. My 4Runner was ready to go. I was in and out of the dealership within 40 mins. One of my best car buying experience.

If they have a plan that covers Anti-lock brake system Power seating, windows, doors, and mirrors Digital displays All sensors Rear glass heating Windshield washer pumps All radiator components Heat/AC blower motor and heater core For hybrid and electric vehicles, the Plan also must cover all components involved in battery charging and voltage regulation

Yes, you need an extended warranty if you drive it in track every day straight for 10 years. Only Fools buy an extended warranty for Toyota unless it covers from 15 to 30 years.

Be nice if you said what the warranty’s cost . It’s all dealer gauging !! 1,500 too 4,500 for the same plan. They pic and choose who the screw !

On my '16 Toyota Camry Le I say send a message (example) (775)555-5555 a number that isn't saved to my phone. No matter what in this area it comes up "Is this the number you want to call?" This drives me crazy! No matter how I say it, when I don't have the number saved to my phone. It refuses to give me the text message option! What is the malfunction here? Thanks!

"How can I buy a new car with bad credit?" Later. After you've fixed your credit and figured out how it got damaged in the first place. Later. After you've saved up your money. Buying a new car without first understanding and fixing the problems that led to that bed credit is just digging a deeper hole. Those loans are going to have huge interest rates, and the people who get you those loans don't care what it will do to you.
