How do you control C axis positioning for that?
@GRTLRS
@GRTLRS Жыл бұрын
Assuming your question is about the first tool? It's done with the post processor. This was programmed as normal, but toolpaths broken up into short segments around the perimeter. The C-angle is controlled with commands inserted between each toolpath. C60. C120. etc. Post sets the C-angles and rotates the coordinates appropriately.

I'm looking at an ST-15Y with a sub spindle. Any thoughts on the work envelope? Seems VERY small. I don't make big stuff generally, but I have done some 7" diameter x 8" long parts on my TL-1. Doesn't look like that's possible on the ST10/15 due to the sub spindle getting in the way.

Hi, I've been watching your HRC210 videos, I really like your set ups and the programs. I've been thinking about getting one for my VF2ss, have you had any issues with the rotary or would get another model instead? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
@GRTLRS
@GRTLRS 3 жыл бұрын
No issues really with the HRC210. The speed sure is nice. Just make sure to pick the one that works well with your parts, since there's also the 160mm size. What size parts do you do? If I could do it again, I'd skip the 4th and go for a TRT model. 5 sides is incredibly useful. Unless you do long parts too, the rotary is also quite helpful with the right fixturing.
@cncmill246
@cncmill246 3 жыл бұрын
@@GRTLRS Thanks for the reply, I've used a friends HRT160mm in a pinch, but the parts where a bit too close to the table when rotating. My part sizes vary in length and width, but are usually 2" max in height. Most of the parts I do can be done with a 4th axis in 2 ops. I would love to get a TRT, but for the price of one, the 4th and 5th wiring, I would consider financing a UMC500 and have a dedicated 5th axis instead. Maybe down the road I can get one. One last question, are you running the brake booster on the HRC210? If not, have you exceeded the brake capabilities of the rotary?
