The air temperature anomaly on the "OH-Ryan" (phonetic) cooler is curious. Did you contact Orion about it? I can't help but wonder if there was a bad air seal - nothing else (other than measurement error) seems to make sense.

Great review, Billy! I have a pair of Underdog Shooting Glasses, the yellow lens version, and I LOVE these things because I wear prescription eye glasses, so having a pair of these that easily flip down in front of my prescription glasses is a God-send! These Underdogs saved me from having to purchase prescription shooting glasses! Another great aspect here is that because they are clipped to the brim of my hat, I NEVER lose them! I've lost several pair of expensive sunglasses when I've taken them off my head, laid them down, and forgot about them. But, I've never lost a hat! So with these glasses attached to my hat, I know I'll never lose them!

I purchased the magview system and found it easy to install but not user friendly. It took way to long to align the camera and I didn't like the fact the metal plate kills your wireless charging option, unless you purchase the wireless charging plate. Definitely liking the method of climbing with the tether… You don’t have to switch ropes at the top, and as the bark tears up your rope you only have to buy one rope to replace your set up… I run latitude outdoors method 2 saddle, it’s metal free and if not the most comfortable on the market, it’s top two… TX5 i’ve heard is the most comfortable and they have joined forces with latitude so I imagine good things are coming. I also just picked up Lonewolf custom gear “the fix” saddle platform. With the upward cam technology, wow, does it bite the tree HARD. Can’t bring myself to attach anything to the tree with Amsteel, I love a good cam buckle. I recently saw a hack where you cut a yak grip in half and slide it over the buckle. Totally silent and the button still works as should. Your set up is a touch noisy, but for $30 worth of stealth strips, I’ve been able to tape everything I needed to! Thanks for the tips man, I’ll be subscribing and liking your videos!
@Stoopidguero93
@Stoopidguero93 13 күн бұрын
I also run beast sticks, they grip the weirdest trees rock solid, but the packability sucks… It’s a sacrifice I guess because they stand off the tree more than any other stick. Quite comfortable actually. When my Lonewolf backpack straps arrived, I’m going to attach them to the saddle platform and try and tie everything up to it. 😂

Everyone does it a little different. It’s just the way I like to do it. Some say there’s a concern of smashing fingers if you fall but so far I haven’t had any issues. Just something to think about. Amsteal honestly is much stronger and less forgiving than a traditional cam buckle. But, just do what you are comfortable with. Thanks for the comments!

Received my phone Skope last week and was a little disappointed. Clip and scope adapter didn’t fit properly, and once I was able to lock it in it was super tight. Tried to lock and unlock hoping the plastic would wear down a bit and didn’t help either. I tried calling them numerous time and no answer until today. Why use your floater pin at 60 yards if you only have 4 pins. If you run your pins 20, 30, 40 and 50 you can’t use your bottom pin as your floater at 60 correct? I’m assuming your pin setting is 30,40,50 and 60 right? After doing this, then you have to sight in your pins independently correct?
@BackwoodsPursuit
@BackwoodsPursuit 15 күн бұрын
@mansalaija hey there! If the bottom pin is the floater, whatever that bottom pin represents (60yds for mine) is where you would align the red arrow with your tape. If 50yds is your bottom pin align the red arrow with 50yds on the tape when you install the tape. My setup is 27, 40, 50, 60, so my bottom pin is set for 60yds. Thanks for watching!

You could climb like this but just use some sort of tether handles. Your concern is very valid and was the first thing I thought of. When you are sitting in your saddle with full weight on your tether and your fingers are caught between the tether and tree it’s going to be a very bad day. Tether handles will keep your fingers out of harms way though.

It would be cool to see a comparison between 85mm spotters vs 65 vs 50. I can only afford one, and as a hunter / backpacker, we all have to make the tough choice between weight and image quality for glassing. It would be nice to see what you gain by packing the extra weight of the 85 (which also requires a heavier tripod) vs how affective a 50 would be at the same task. For example, maybe a compact swaro will outperform a full size vortex. Sometimes its actually more valuable to compare apples to oranges.

I carried a Meopta Meostar 20-70x 82mm scope while accompanying a buddy on his scouting & hunting trips for mountain goat. Between that and the tripod, it was a lot to pack. The huge glass and the angled design are great once you’re set up and glassing, but when carrying it, it would be much nicer to have something smaller with a straight body. Not to mention a smaller scope with a straight body works great on an auto window mount. Not trying to state the obvious here, but many (most?) of us are more likely to pack something smaller, and the scope you have is better than the scope you left at home.

Also make you a USA rope mod for your platform so you can ditch that damn strap. Hell if you want just let me know and I'll even send one to your po box

The way you climb you need to one stick. Its so much better and you already use the climbing technique

Share any deets on the load you worked up? Obvious caveats apply that it can’t be assumed to be a safe load in anyone else’s gun…just directionally curious what worked well as another nexus owner and hand loader working up many loads myself
