Looking forward your in depth review of this one too. Is it possible that you include a USAF Positive Test Chart in your tests going forward? It is great tool for quantifying resolution power and color fringing. I have always liked your reviews and would really appreciate if they became even more objective.

I was about to ask the same thing. considering you're literally looking at less than half the cost for the 553 ($1099 vs $2299) it's going to be really hard for me to justify going with the new model

You can buy the 553 then save the extra for a new bow, or rifle action, or carbon barrell. Maybe some reloading equipment a new pistol.
