I guess a number of legato shred lords use compressors to help them make hammer ons from nowhere a little easier to execute 😅

I run 2 compressors 1 at the beginning of my signal chain after my tuner and ... wait for it... at the end of my FX loop , I like it , unconventional, but sounds great.

I use a compressor to bring up the frequencies lost in the capacitance of the cables. Just enough to goose the presence. A Keeley Mini Compressor is on my main board; a companion unobtrusive...

Another great way to use compressors is as a leveler, you can switch guitars with different output pickups and have them on the same level durig a gig

Such bullshit, I tried many headless guitars, no guitar went out of tune by sitting in classical position, while the GOC ones are truly terrible to tune. I really do not like that aspect of my Vajra.
@ryanisheartless6 күн бұрын
Your mileage may vary, but you certainly don’t speak for everyone else. I’m not the only one to have the tuning issue on other headless guitars. The GOCs are easy as cake to tune, just use a guitar pick to turn the tuners, and you’re good to go. It takes zero extra effort compared to any other headless guitar, considering as a guitarist you likely have a guitar pick in or around your hand 99% of the time.
@zeronine-eightyfour6 күн бұрын
@@ryanisheartless Neither do you. and when using a pick it gets scratched up because those aluminum knurled tuning heads dig into the pickups.

I always thought that the speaker emulator circuit should be placed after the poweramp stage not in a preamp circuit so it can more accurately emulate a physical guitar amp either tube or solid state. Perhaps more power amps should be equipped with IR loading circuits as well as voltage output lowering dials to get the cranked amp sound at lower volume.

I have an Oxford Sound Preamp from Joyo, an Orange multi-amp pedal based on the Tech-21 Oxford. Running the gain at 9 o'clock with the voice knob at 3 o'clock, it sounds like a pushed clean, and engaging an overdrive that has the gain turned up just enough so it gives the signal some grit by itself into the front with high output or active pickups instantly puts it into upper medium to high gain territory. My favorite way to use it is to actually use a Joyo Argos Drive as a clean boost, into a Joyo Uzi with the gain at 0 and the volume at max, and then feed that into the Oxford Sound. The Oxford Sound has kinda a half assed cab sim run parallel with the unaffected signal, so it works well into a clean channel, or into an FX return, with minimal EQ tweak needed, but it also actually sounds really good into my DAW and run through a power amp sim and an IR loader. The headphone out of the Joyo Bantamps work the same way, as does the XLR out on an Orange Super Crush, so running one in the FX loop of one with the headphone jack sounds properly cab simulated. I can actually easily recommend any of those preamp pedals from Joyo, just because of how versatile they are. I've also seen a lot of videos on the Chopper-Z preamp that paint it in a similarly positive light.

@needsLITHIUMКүн бұрын
@@adamstein9333 the chopper is their take a Horizon Devices Apex Preamp, which is based on a modified circuit for the MXR 5150 preamp.
@nicholasdasilva569910 күн бұрын
The Rigel is a stripped-down/single-channel clone of the Ceres preamp pedal by KSR. If you run it through a Blackstar AMPED1 in Flat preamp + 6L6 power amp emulation mode, it sounds freaking brutal. It also pairs really well with the Argos overdrive (Horizon Precision Drive clone), but a TS9/808 clone will also get you in the ballpark. With the Feel and Mod switches both in the down position and the Bright switch on, it basically acts like a solid-state Recto/5150.
