I met an other Ovni skipper who had used black and white anti fouling to paint the hull so that it looked like an Orca. He didn’t know if it would have prevented an interaction as they didn’t meet any Orca on their passage through the Straits, but it was an interesting idea.

My great great grandfather's schooner was lost in the bay of biscay in 1864 after 10 years of sailing between Wexford Ireland and the Black Sea on the grain run. Probably in a December storm.

The fuel needed priming up before trying to wear the starter motor out. A gardner will start in the first 5 revolutions if it has fuel

This Schooner is my wet dream ship. Literally everything in a yacht that I have thought about for myself if I could afford to build one, upto and including individual berths for the crew. Fantastic boat!!!

@@PaulusPHM Just to clarify; my steel flare gun is European-made though (26.5mm) and has a 12 gage converter insert on it to fire 12 gage flares. Will it still work to fire the regular 12 gage bear bangers that you fired from the shotgun?
