Nice design. A thought, if this is attached to a vertical support (wall or other structure) a bike could be parked vertically and free up some floor space.

I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. kzbin.infoUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...

Really good review. KZbin sent me here after viewing reviews of the Blackburn Wayside multitool, which looks like another good option, distinguished by the inclusion of detachable full-size allen keys. Apparently, these allow one to reach places that attached keys won't be able to reach.

what shoes do I buy so i can take advantage of both sides?
@mtbikestuff42642 жыл бұрын
I really can’t think of any. Clip-less shoes are designed to be firm for better performance, but generally results in almost no grip with clipping in. Since I wouldn’t recommend mountain biking in the flat side, normally shoes would be fine for the flat side.

Hey man! Great stand. Couple notes on the table saw: 1. never use gloves, if it catches the blade, it can suck your whole hand in 2. Don't wear baggy clothes, same reason

I like this stand and am about to make it. Thanks for making the video. But can I give you some potentially finger-saving tips for table saw usage? 1) take those gloves and jacket off, they can get caught in the blade 2) rough sawn lumber can technically be cut on a table saw but it’s dangerous. Miter saw or hand held would be much safer for that crosscut 3) table saw cuts should always be supported either with a miter gauge or rip fence, not cut free hand 4) blade height should only be about one blade tooth higher than your wood; no need to expose more blade than needed

From what I remember it was super solid! We took it on a 6,000 mile road trip and I never worried that my bike was gonna fall off or get rattled around. From a speculative point of view, I would suggest something from veloci-racks. I would also suggest watching my later video, and how this bike rack failed.

Clipless pedals shouldn't be making a difference if your technique is right, when your technique is right and you have a bike that fits you right where you can get your weight in the right places, clip or no clip shouldn't make any difference, clipless is just a more of a convenience for bunny hopping, most people in mountain biking use them for the extra security.
@Imnameless692 ай бұрын

You are not supposed to use gloves with anything spinning, especially a table saw. Please refer to incidents where people have lost fingers due to gloves being pulled in.
@alsmith73163 жыл бұрын
This is true. That cut on the table saw was dangerous even without the gloves. Nice stand, but his the use of the table saw should be ignored by all. Not only was the cut unsupported, but the board was warped. This is a recipe for disaster.

Having the same issue with a Swingdaddy Yakima rack. Mine isn't that extreme yet, but working there. How was Yakima to deal with?
@mtbikestuff42643 жыл бұрын
Since we bought it at REI they took it back immediately. We had heard that Yakima has some of the best customer support in the game and when we contacted them, they offered to replace all the worn out parts at no additional cost. We assumed the same part would just break again and ended up returning it. Hope this helps!

Im brand new to clipless and i cannot for the life of me clip into these pedals. Even holding them in my hand. (Noted the pedals are heavily used and one has a slight bend in the egg beater part) do you have any tips or should I find new pedals?
@mtbikestuff42643 жыл бұрын
The bend could contribute but that wouldn’t explain them BOTH not working. Also, trying to clip them in you hand is wayyyy harder then if they were on your bike. Also, have you checked to see if the pedals are on the right side of the bike? When I first started with clipless I put the pedals on and messed around with them until I got them in. Also, when getting clipped in remember to slide your foot forward and down, don’t just press down. Let me know if that helps, and if not I could upload a video showing what to do.

Holy shit dude. That table saw cross cut was about as dangerous as they get. If you are going to do a video, you have an obligation to do it safely. Your pusher stick was pinching the blade (it started riding up at the end of the cut) and will kick up in your face. I’ve been woodworking for years and had one board kick back and it scared me to death. Your saw splitter/riving knife saved your front teeth but still can happen. Plus your blade is super high over the top of your board. Cool content but watch some videos on safely using a saw. Not being critical of you personally but tip for you and your viewers.
@mtbikestuff42643 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice!!! I’ll definitely keep that in mind next time! How should I have done the cut differently?
@alsmith73163 жыл бұрын
@@mtbikestuff4264 You need a miter gauge at a minimum, a cross-cut sled would be better. If those are not available, use a different saw. You do not need that much blade sticking up either. Worse case, expose the blade until the bottom of the gullet clears the material. This would be good for a rip cut. For a cross cut you can maybe go a little bit lower. You do not want to go any higher than that. No need to expose that much blade. It will make things worse should something bad happen.

How do you like them? I am torn between this or the Mallot 3. Already an eggbeater user
@mtbikestuff42644 жыл бұрын
I prefer the double shots because they offer a completely flat side while the mallets don’t. At the same time, the mallets allow you to clip in on both sides...basically you have to be more intentional with the double shots. For me knowing I beat up my pedals, price was also a factor since the mallets are around 3x the price of the double shots. Hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions!
