If you ride with the flat side do you find yourself having more pedal strikes since the clueless mechanism hangs lower than the pedal surface?

Hehe just bought bontrager flatline shoes and raceface affect pedals. If you posted a bit earlier i would think about these. Anyway, good videos.

Is it okay to use blue locktight when installing the screws to the shoes ?
@mtbikestuff42644 жыл бұрын
I don’t see why not! I didn’t use it myself and haven’t had any problems so far.

How do you like them? I am torn between this or the Mallot 3. Already an eggbeater user
@mtbikestuff42643 жыл бұрын
I prefer the double shots because they offer a completely flat side while the mallets don’t. At the same time, the mallets allow you to clip in on both sides...basically you have to be more intentional with the double shots. For me knowing I beat up my pedals, price was also a factor since the mallets are around 3x the price of the double shots. Hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions!

Hello, thx for the review, bought these pedals today but I could not manage to find out which one was the left one or right. I know you said it in the video but I can't hear so well. Can you please tell me how I can see the difference. Thank you.

At 3:29 can you see the groove just outside the threads that I am pointing to? If you see that groove then it’s the left pedal. Hope this help and enjoy your pedals!

what shoes do I buy so i can take advantage of both sides?
@mtbikestuff42642 жыл бұрын
I really can’t think of any. Clip-less shoes are designed to be firm for better performance, but generally results in almost no grip with clipping in. Since I wouldn’t recommend mountain biking in the flat side, normally shoes would be fine for the flat side.

Im brand new to clipless and i cannot for the life of me clip into these pedals. Even holding them in my hand. (Noted the pedals are heavily used and one has a slight bend in the egg beater part) do you have any tips or should I find new pedals?
@mtbikestuff42643 жыл бұрын
The bend could contribute but that wouldn’t explain them BOTH not working. Also, trying to clip them in you hand is wayyyy harder then if they were on your bike. Also, have you checked to see if the pedals are on the right side of the bike? When I first started with clipless I put the pedals on and messed around with them until I got them in. Also, when getting clipped in remember to slide your foot forward and down, don’t just press down. Let me know if that helps, and if not I could upload a video showing what to do.

@@mtbikestuff4264 im taking a trip to my LBS to see what they think. If it's just user error then I guess I'll just tough it out till I figure them out haha.

Good plan!

does it come with the clipless cleats?
@habs2 жыл бұрын
yes... all clipless pedals include cleats. Crankbrothers come with standard cleats, so if you were starting to use them and wanted their easy release cleats for beginners then that would have to be purchase.
@JKaty103 жыл бұрын
what’s the difference of this to the double shot 1?
@mtbikestuff42643 жыл бұрын
The 1’s are made of polymer as opposed to metal. So while they’re lighter, they’re also less durable and less reliable.

Can I use my Shimano SPD shoes clips with the Crank brothers system?
@mtbikestuff42643 жыл бұрын
No you cannot. The pedals come with the crank brothers shoe clips so it’s just a matter of installing them onto you mtb shoes.
