There appears to be a question whether Brompton will be around for much longer. There reported profit for last year was just under 5000 uk pounds. Considering the high price for these bikes that use mostly proprietary parts this makes me nervous about buying one.

I swapped my Brompton saddle for Brooks C.17 as it's weatherproof and is comfortable 'straight out of the box'. Works for me - ! 😊😊

Is there any internal parts from this type of hub that may need servicing too? (looking to upgrade from a Nexus 8-speed IGH to this enviolo...much easier to deal with compared to the Shimano Nexus).

Firstly me duck, bromptons are NOT utilitarian!! Brompton's are a expensively nice luxury bicycle that most people would balk quite obviously at the price and you know it!!

Great little video! The big chain is too much, I go to Fiesta Farms couple of times weekly at different times of the day and only use the coffee lock chain, never an issue. Sometimes I even forget to put the chain.

I've carried a Montague folder (converted to E power, 110 watts, and a Rohloff hub) in my small plane for years, and just now bought a Brompton for when I don't need the capabilities of the larger bike, town riding in other words. I've used a Burley Travoy trailer with the Montague to get mogas also for years, 13 gallons at a time. Just for grins, I tried the Brompton with 5 gallons on the Travoy, level pavement. To my surprise, I couldn't tell it was there!

I was lucky enough to purchase a Brompton NYC edition S6L in Australia however, it was never released with the additional hat and scarf, but I was very lucky to travel to London and find them marked down 4 years later to complete the set. I don’t really ride this one too much - more for show as I have two others to rise.

I think they’re pretty cool but are not worth the price.

I really like your video. It’s straight to the point. I had my Brompton for years before I ever upgraded. I added the Non-leather Brooks saddle and grips.
