Can that compartment be reached with a wet vacuum and a small hose? Our LG dishwasher just turned off out of the blue…after 16 months of service which is an absolute all-time negative record of any dishwasher.

Thank you so much! I wasn’t getting power to my LG dishwasher, I found your video and after draining all the excess water out with my shop vac, I still got no power, so the wife and I unmounted the dishwasher and rocked it side to side and back and fourth a few times and the power came on. Thank you so much

No doubt you saved lots of people a good amount of money and time. Thank you for taking the time to post your solution. I moved my dishwasher a little bit out of the cabinet housing just enough to be able to tilt it forward and shake. I didn't hear any draining or rushing of water. I just assumed it somehow freed up the sensor of any water or moisture that prevents the machine from turning on. It worked.

This is brilliant. Watched another video that talks about replacing part. A lot of people in the comments there seem to have success following that method I wonder if they tried what you did first.

I watched this just before deciding to dig in and search for a blown filter fuse in my exact model as yours. As per your video, I loosened the front mounting screws and lifted the machine front about 1.5 inches for 20 sec. Set it back down, shut the door, and pushed the power button...BAM! lights back on :) dingers dinging. FIXED! :)

This totally works however you don’t need to take it out. Pull out your bottom tray there is a filtered in the center just before the spinner facing you. Turn it counter clockwise and take it out to clean. I took a shop vac and vacuumed the water out. My dishwasher came on immediately. Thank you so much for your help.👏👏👏👏👏

Okay so I have had the no power issue 3 times on my lg dishwasher now. I found this video and it worked by tilting it the first couple of times and I would hear water draining when I did so. This time though for some odd reason tilting did not work. Did what you said and that thankfully worked, even though I assume it achieves the same thing (draining water around the filter area). Either way thanks a lot for the tip.

My machine is powering on, but the lights are flashing on it and it won't start/run. Hmmm I do feel water in the drain line from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal though so maybe it's the same problem. Thank you for taking the time to post the video.

Folks I don’t want to talk out of turn but I had the same issue. However as I rocked the machine back and forth I heard a clicking sound. I thought it was the sensor but when I found the source I saw sparks. It’s in the panel under the machine on the bottom right. The wires were melted. What an ordeal to put them back together and wrap with electrical tape. I don’t know if that’s going to do the trick but I plan on getting a new machine. I used it 4 times total and it had that issue!!! Might be a manufacturer defect or I’m just unlucky.

If you look under the door, there should be a metal plate you can u screw. Behind that metal plate, there should be a screw that says "tub up" and "tub down." I screwed it so the tub points downwards slightly, and it fixed the issue for me.

I had a little different situation than yours. My display just kept flickering and it would not start. I pulled my washer forward and tilted forward. When I pushed it back in place, all the lights came on. Now my washer is running as normal 🤷‍♂️ Not sure what if I had a water sensor problem like you did but your fixed work for my situation 😊 Thanks a million!

This worked for me too! Thanks! My dishwasher was also not powering on at all, so I pulled the washer out and tilted it forward for about a minute. I also used a sponge to soak up water from the bottom of the tub below the filter and emptied the drain hose too (just for good measure). Although, it did not work immediately. I had to wait for about an hour for some reason before it would turn back on. Could have been that I just wasn't pushing the power button quite right though. Not a big fan of these touchpad buttons. All in all, a pretty weird symptom of a water buildup issue. Not impressed by LG design/support here, but fixed it thanks to you!
