Tamiya really needs to sell a carbon fiber part. The G11 is a well known weak point on the Vanquish/VQS. RcEvoLogic used to make an aluminum part, but I don’t think they make it any more.

I wish they would. Until then, it's easy enough to make one, though.

Seems cool but navigating their odd terminology would be tedious at first. I am sure after a few times of going it there it would make sense! I wish they would learn there are things to improve on and things to leave alone, naming conventions are one of the leave it alone things! LOL!!
@rcinhand9671Ай бұрын
It is weird to navigate. I edited out a few mistakes I made with that. One, I think I called "fine tuning" end points, because that made sense in my head at the moment!

Good stuff man!!!! I like the pistol grip radios myself... I use a Futaba 4PV... To get more steering, cut the tabs off the knuckles, but be warned, with the increase in steering throw (with the tabs cut off), the tires might rub on the radius arms at full lock (full steering). JConcept wheels might help to as they have adjustable wideners (off set), but must be used with their tires (unless you trim the bead on stock or other brands tires or cut the inside rib off the wheels). As an old former Clod racer, we only used front steering and never had an issue doing a 180 degree turn on carpet at speed (see Trigger Kings KZbin channel).

Very cool. I've the same feelings as you for this car. A rere would be cool, but I fear they would do the Sonic first. It has better parts, but don't look as slim as the Striker. Maybe we see the many times announced Falcon first. So I just enjoyed your video. I like that you still have the old RC technology in it.

The Striker is a neat one but I doubt we see it again. But Tamiya does some odd and strange things so it is anyone's guess really what they are going to do next! LOL! Personally I would leave it as is and take it out for a run or two and then go through the whole restoration process and swap out all the parts and get it looking as good as possible and let it live as a shelf queen. Have fun with it and enjoy it how you would like though. It is your kit and your memories to play around with as you wish, I'll watch the videos! LOL!!
@rcinhand96714 ай бұрын
I have a feeling that Tamiya won't rerelease it. That's why I caved and went this route! There probably wouldn't be enough money doing this car, again. I agree that I should just reassemble it with the old parts. There's nothing wrong with any of them, just some scratches. Obviously someone loved this car enough to keep it in good shape, it's just the rear suspension broke.

I built the g500 power wagon tamiya kit same truck different body but I have to tare down and epoxy the diff or put the kit in Because it is horrible if you don’t lock diffs
@rcinhand96715 ай бұрын
The kit comes with plastic inserts for the diff instead of using the spider gears, to lock it. Or you can use Silly Putty, that will almost lock it, and still give you diff action. It's also very easy to clean out the Silly Putty when the time comes.
