Neat game! This reminds me of when I used to recreate counter strike maps in an old flash game called aMazer.

I believe videogames are 40% mechanics and 60% details (Rough estimate). When they are "almost done" they almost finish the 40% The details include bug fixings, glitch fixing, small details and tweaks, levels, interactions between mechanics, etc
@TheShelfman
@TheShelfman 3 күн бұрын
@@AdamtronskyMe I'm not sure I'd agree on that exact estimation because I haven't thought about it that way, but I can definitely see what you mean! And content doesn't exist without mechanics to bring it all together

At that point, your game is still kind of an engine. Sure, now it has the tools to make everything*, but it still isn't truly a game if there's nothing to play. *this is most definitely incorrect, you'd need to be a god of luck and planning to not make ANY new mechanics or props during the level design process.

I understand people who ask for wishlists but I dislike when they keep asking and seems like the game never releases
@TheShelfman
@TheShelfman 16 күн бұрын
That's totally understandable! Usually these are small teams or solodevs (me included). Games take a long time to make and when such small teams release a game, they can't afford for it to be sloppy like a lot of AAA games are nowadays which get fixed later on. This could hurt these devs. So they start asking for wishlists far ahead of release to get as much attention and hype as possible while still giving themselves time to make their game is good as possible. My game, Skies of Aevium, is very far from release. But having people wishlist it will help it a lot in the long run😁
@AdamtronskyMe
