I never like to tell people that i have an interest in "wildlife photography" cause if i tell them that some of my photos are taken in the Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari and Bird Paradise they will say "oh then its not wildlife photography". So you are telling me that those animals in there are "not wild"? That's rubbish! Hence, I always prefer to tell people that I am an interest in Fauna photography. Whether wild or kept in captivity they are still Fauna.

Hi Terence, thank you for this informative intro. What binoculars would you recommend for a novice bird watcher like myself? Thanks in advance!
@TerenceSzeto2 күн бұрын
hello! get one from a reputable brand, and at least 8 x 42 is my recommendation (first number represents the magnification - the higher the number, the more the zoom. and second number represents the diameter of the lens - the higher the number, the more light can pass through, allowing you to see in dimmer conditions)

I first started shooting wildlife with this lens. For the price point it is hard to beat, even today. That said, I only lasted a year with it before selling it and moving to the 500 PF. The reasons being: 1 - Its image quality in perfect conditions is decent, but it just doesn't cut through heat haze as well. Not sure why, maybe one of the coatings but I found as soon as conditions were imperfect, my image quality took a hit that I don't experience with other teles 2- Its focus performance is just really slow. I've never had a lens hunt back and fourth as much as the 200-500. 3- I never used it at shorter than 500mm anyway so the zoom feature wasn't really useful to me. I also found it really front heavy when at 500mm which made it annoying to handhold. 4- Having to constantly worry about sucking moisture into the lens because of how it is designed just isn't something I wanted to worry about. 5- The 500PF's used price is just too good over the last few years. I think at MSRP its a tough sell but I found as soon as the 600 6.3 arrived, everyone and their dog was selling off 500s which meant I could get one for like 60% off retail. 6 - It sucks with a TC. While the 500 PF can take a 1.4 TC and still retain decent image quality, the 200-500 looks terrible with a TC on it.

@TerenceSzeto7 күн бұрын
oh absolutely - huge huge upgrade in every single area. Depending on how dim your light is, the autofocus may struggle abit, but if you pair it with a native Z lens that might remove some of those struggles

If you have the Z6III, shoot in NLog instead because it will give you better overall image quality, and I think better dynamic range too than shooting in flat.

Hi. How did you show the video histogram on the screen? And where in the N log D log option for 4K 25 FR? I didnt understand the iso neither. Is 800 recommended? It seems that I can choose down to 100 for video. Thanks
@TerenceSzetoАй бұрын
Hello, to show the histogram or waveform on the screen, you need to go into your menu > custom settings > g15. To get NLog, go into your menu > Video recording menu > Video file type, and then right click into any of the first few options. 800 is the minimum ISO the camera allows when you choose NLog. Currently I believe only the Z6III, Z8, Z9 and Z50II have these features, if you are using other cameras then I'm afraid these are not possible
