This is beautiful. Sharon and Malcolm are two of the most outstanding musicians.

Perfect. Loved the slow tempo. Why it didn’t finish?

What a splendid interpretation of this song. In its simplicity and legato. The pianist is also excellent. Juste one little prononciation mistake. French is tricky: in balbutient, the t is pronunced ss like : balbussient. Bravo 👏🏽

Stunning singer - Baroque composers suit your voice perfectly! Unfortunately the organ was much too loud and marred the beauty of the performance.

Lovely but not by Stanford, so who is the composer/arranger?

I think Silvia Colasanti is a genius. Without digressing into praise and accolades for "La Metamorfosi" (Kafka, now that's seriously heavy literature) and "Minotauro", this production of "Proserpine" is not only a delicious visual fête; it is also worthy of high praise for it's enchanting and masterfully composed score wherein a (usually clumsy) English libretto is heavily infused with the beauty of Italianate lyricism with a healthy dose of Strauss-like structuring and atmospheric moodiness. Fortunate indeed are the gifted singers and production teams who are selected to collaborate with Ms. Colasanti on the stagings of her noteworthy oeuvres.

Splendid performance to enjoy as I read about the composer in a book called 'Quartet'. On a second listen, this time without book, I appreciated the way you have made this piece speak, rather than it merely being a recital. Many thanks. It is an interesting choice; if you were so minded, I would appreciate knowing why this and not some other piece.

Thank you for your kind words. As the set is such an attractive one and there was only one available recording (with a baritone voice), we felt it warranted inclusion in this recital. It’s great to see more and more of her music being performed now!

I saw the picture and thought What is this? Somebody practicing in the living room? Did click on it expecting it to be disappointing. Then she started singing and I thought WHAT IS THAT. I did not expect that. She is absolutely great. What a beautiful, full warm voice. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks. I am glad I stumbled upon this. She is great. Organ playing and Cello also.

English translation: The full moon beams on the mountain tops; how I have missed you! Sweetheart, it is so beautiful when true love truly kisses. What are May’s fair adorments to me? You were my ray of spring. Light of my night, O smile upon me once more in death. She entered in the light of the full moon, and gazed heavenwards. ‘In life far away, yet in death yours!’ And gently heart broke upon heart.

Thank you for sharing this video with Sharon Carty singing one of the most popular arias composed for Farinelli. What a beautiful clear and natural sounding voice! Great breath control, pure intonation, wonderful legato and nuanced dynamic gradation. In my opinion this is one of the best interpretations of this aria by Riccardo Broschi. I repeated this video several times with exictement. Please recored this aria in the studio, I will buy it certainly. Where was this concert performed on June 4th 2016 ? Was it Castletown House in Celbridge, Ireland ?
