Hi…nice to see 2024 enthusiasm for the Contours. I have the original Contour 20 (👉🏼no ”i ")…in beautiful gloss white (no dust! 😊) I bought my 20s new-in-box just as the 20i was released and got a nice cash discount from a storefront dealer. I am have a "streaming-based" system…. Audio System: Qobuz Feed via COAX => NetGear Nighthawk Modem => LHY Network Switch SW8 => Intel NUK Roon Server => Volumio Rivo Streamer => Denafrips Pontus II DAC => Schiit Loki MAX Equalizer => Schiit Freya+ (w/supercharged tube circuit, spent $600 to replace all caps & resistors w/audiophile-grade & NOS Tubes) => McIntosh MC512 Power Amp (150 WPC@8ohms) => DynAudio Contour 20s. Also: Stereo REL Acoustics T/5x Subwoofers. I also have Appropriate-Voltage LHY Linear Power Supplies powering: Netgear Modem Volumio Rivo Streamer Intel NUK Roon Server I play all Streamed Music via Qobuz through The Roon Interface. CD/SCAD Playback: Marantz SCAD 30n After careful placement and set-up I experience a VERY wide sound stage, tight bass and beautiful, never harsh or fatiguing highs from my set-up. Great recordings sound sublime to me still, after a couple of years of listening. I would like to experience some open baffle speakers, like the Pure Audio Project Duet 15…. Just to experience something very different…but they are expensive and have a rather large footprint for my living space… …ya never know! 😀

Like yourself, I had the contour 20i for a couple of years. then I stopped up to the Confidence 20. That is a bully of a bookshelf speaker. The Contour 20i is a fine speaker, I drove mine with Sugden Pure ClassA that brought out the music in the contour speakers.

@@doodahdavesrecords4319 Yes, definitely. It sounds great. This is the oldest Project Carbon, it has a metal plate as a standard. This metal plate needs to be thrown away to the garage and replace to acrylic plate. The sound improvement is huge. Same with the mat , the one supplied with the turntable was rubber mat, replacing it to cork&rubber mat improves the sound too.

a question regarding power cables, what kind of cables do you have inside your wall aka on the other side of the wall outlet??🤣
@igaldins5 ай бұрын
@@casperjensen1769 Good question. Currently I have standard cables in the wall, but I plan to add a separate power line from the main power board to the system. Still did not decided which cables I’ll use for this. Since the power cables outside the wall had such a big effect , I can only wonder how huge will be the effect of a separate power line. @@christophermarvin85 Hi, surely I cleaned the ground contact on the turntable, I connected it to the ground on my amp. My guy, allow me to explain that there has been a very open challenge with a prize of 1 million dollars if someone can reliably hear cable differences in a blind test. This bounty is of great proportion for something that people claim to be able to do so easily all the time... yet this challenge has never been completed to prize winning level. Why? Why is it there are thousand dollar cables.. even ten and 20 and even more priced cables... and all of them being so costly that surely the makers of these cables would love to prove their product is the best because they have the ability to win a million dollars with them... why dont they? Why do they pass up this challenge and not win 1 million dollars and prove the skeptics wrong? Save your money for things that can easily be proven. Also, if you are not A/B testing the cables (blinded with someone else making the switch) then there is no way you would really tell a difference. Our audio memory abilities are not very good even if you have exceptional hearing... you will not be able to accurately tell any differences if it takes more than simply switching immediately. We have known this about hearing for a long time. I have some decent cables, and by decent I mean I buy sturdy cables that will last while knowing they do not enhance the sound compared to cheaper cables. I prefer balanced if it is an option because I dont want the chance of electrical pollution to be a thing.
