My Mum had one. It was lost in a fire 6 years before she died. I played with it as a child. I've been trying to find one just like it but realise I can't afford to replace it. The bird in the video looks like and sings just like the bird in Mum's cage. Beautiful!!

I live in New Zealand and have just purchased a Sankyo music box second hand that the music is working fine but the dancers are on a lean over. Looks like they need to be pushed down onto the moving spindle but I don't want to open the music box in case i ruin it completely. Do you have any advice you could share please? It's very beautiful and I really would love to be able to get it to work once again.

I just inherited one from my father who got it from his father and he received it from his. My great grandfather got it for his home in Galveston, Texas. It was the first home in the state with electric lights on its Christmas tree. Mine is in sore need of restoration. I’m fairly mechanically-minded. In your opinion, is this something I could take on? Any big pitfalls to avoid or look out for? Thank you very much!
