I also replaced all of the dampers and that makes a huge difference in the musical quality.

@@troyduncan1969 I'd also have a few questions about some of the items I own. One of my chtistmas tree stands is missing a little metal piece that triggers the switching of the tunes, is there any way to replace it by yourself or do you need to get it professionally made? I do also have 2 heirloom boxes that really mean a lot to me that need an overhaul and re-dampering, will the sound quality of the comb be the same after restoration? These are a few of the questions I'd have. I hope there might be some advice.

@@troyduncan1969 My 4th musical cuckoo clock still has it's original dampers I think, and they don't squeak at all. It was probably a 1 or 2 owner clock, or it hasn't been used much or it was very well looked after and it's dampers might have been replaced in it's later life. It's entirely original but the original pendulum is missing. So far it's never had another one.

@@linus-clocksnmusic I have seen it. I'm lazy as I haven't used any of my other channels very much, in years. Especially not CBF3 and CBF1CuckooClocks. Broken music box on one of my clocks right now that's why I haven't uploaded any clock collection videos in 3 years BUT... I have recorded some this year and will upload them because I've moved home. My collection, except the gutted clocks, is in storage. The gutted clocks are awaiting repair and I've decided to keep my battery operated Widdop & Bingham model W6757 cuckoo clock up and running wherever it goes.
