Wow, I’m shaking my head….why are we having to “improve” our Klein tools?!? I like ratcheting screwdrivers but Klein really missed the mark here. I feel like if I remove and flip this contraption too much that the silly spring clip will snap, also I feel like the ratcheting system is going to break and render the tool useless. This thing looks like quality stuff while it’s in the package but once you open it, it just turns to crap. There was nothing wrong with their original 11 in 1 shaft to collar system, all they had to do was integrate it with the ratcheting system and viola!!! But, noooo some genius engineer with soft manicured hands just had to come in and screw it all up!! I tried to use the standard 11 in 1 shaft with this ratcheting handle and ehhh it’s a sketchy fit. Man this is a Klein tool, I should never feel like I am going to damage it by using it. They went backwards on this one. They need to fire the team who dreamed up this design.
@yellowtrain31612 күн бұрын
Just returned my Klein 65300 set at Lowe’s. I was excited to have this set, but quickly realized that it’s GARBAGE!!! I popped the extension into the ratchet then popped in the 3/8 socket on the extension, used the tool, worked as expected, then went to remove the 3/8 socket from the extension and could not remove it. Sprayed oil thinking it would just slide out, still stuck. Used pliers to get a better purchase on the 3/8 socket pulled and tugged every which way I could and still the socket would not come out. Also, when inserting the extension into the ratchet it felt too loose, and sure enough after a few good shakes the extension just fell right out from the ratchet. So in summary, the extension is too loose in the ratchet and the 3/8 socket was way too tight inside the extension making it impossible to remove. I can’t tell you if the other sockets fit well in the extension because I was never able to remove the 3/8 socket from it. Even the guys at Lowe’s could not remove it, only thing we did not try was using a vice. That all being said I returned the item for a refund. Two thumbs down 👎 👎 for this set. The gearwrench brand I think would be a better choice. Also picked up the ratcheting 11 in 1 and ehhh it’s really not all that great. In my opinion KLEIN missed the mark on these two products.

Man, that really sucks. Sorry to hear of your bad experience. Normally I have pretty good luck with Klein's quality control, but every once in a while, they do put out a dud or two.

Hey Boss. I may have a hundred questions for you but will start with a few simple first:) Can you incorporate that screen set with mach4? Do you find that probe repeatable and accurate? How much do you think you have in that auto tool changer system, would you do it again? What do you think about that 4th axis you have (seen in another vid)
@RileyKnifeandTool27 күн бұрын
Thanks for the questions. This screen will only work with Mach3. The probe seems very repeatable and accurate. I’d say I have about $2k in the spindle upgrade give or take. I’d say it’ll be worth it. As for the 4th axis, I like it so far. Still learning the ins and outs, but it’s a good upgrade too.
@rufustoad127 күн бұрын
@@RileyKnifeandTool Thanks for the info. Can you suggest what 4th axis you bought and what drivers? I have an Avid CNC and their 4th axis is just way more than I care to spend right now. I am going to keep an eye on you about that auto tool changer just to see how you feel about it in a few months. 2k in my mind is worth it. Are you going to put a home in place for the gantry to have a place to go get the tool?? Not sure if you have heard of Marius Hornberger or not but he made a great tool changing rack that I am interested in but first I have to get the conversion done. Nice job on that conversion BTW. That can be very overwhelming if your not born into that kinda field.
@RileyKnifeandTool27 күн бұрын
@@rufustoad1I added links up in the description for the 4th axis I bought. I plan on adding 10 tool holders, likely along the back Y axis. Marius Hoernberger is one smart dude. I do watch his videos. I love the spindle sander he just built. That guy is on another level.

Alot of holding the knife in our teeth while opening boxes. Recently got the oknife u1 since there was alot of blade exposed. The knurled knob on it is loose even if you crank it down with twin grips. Still useable but i appreciate the safety you built into thoes. You have taken that to a new level for sure. I don't think anyone has accused you of running a get rich quick scheme off these sheaths. That extra flip socket seems to cover what i would consider most common sizes since 3/8s can be a self tapper. Still love the sawzall blade holders thank you always. Im sure many people including me appreciate the great work you do along with the full time job. Your prices are more than reasonable for one man band products its not as easy as it looks. What would you think about a small electrical tool pannel to clip onto veto bags or pouches? A large rectangle with room for a fluke nvct some common wire strippers {forged knipex?} and a multibit screwdriver or better yet a vessel ball electric screwdriver. Just the basic 3 things for swaping out devices. I will buy the first one if you can make the right combo of tools as long as its under 50 60ish dollars.
@RileyKnifeandTool2 ай бұрын
Appreciate the comment. That’s an interesting idea on the panel/multi tool sheath, and something I’ve considered in the past. There’s certainly no shortage of options and possible combos. I’ll have to think about that one for a while.

Have you gotten a set of tsubosan hardness checking files? Made in Japan actually they make some of the best jewlers files up there with 1k swiss watchmaker ones. 50 to 100 dollars and there plus or minus 3 to 5 hrc. Being a knife maker I'm sure you can touch up a roll from a file. It's about the cheapest way to semi scientifically test heat treats. Good luck with the knives I hope they fly off the shelf.

Infamous means well known for a bad quality reason or action. I think you probably mean just famous or well known. Nice pliars, I am looking forward to getting some. Thanks for posting your video. The 7" pair here in Australia are $138 and the 9" are $152. That's bananas but I think I will buy a pair anyway. I'm curious to see if there's anything to the hype. I doubt I'll ever buy another Snapon tool. Knipex are much more reasonably priced here but it will be interesting to give these a go.
@kriphippie14062 ай бұрын
I think the infamous part is the high tool truck prices not any bad quality. That’s the only rift I see from people. Some mechanics will defend them to the end while others would never spend that kind of money. To each his own, spend your money how you please.

Been 5 or 6 years with mine they really are all that and a bag of chips. If you love thoes and your doing a mess of residential outlets and switches they make the installation pliers. The cutters open wider and they only strip 14g and 12g aka romex solid. If that's all you work with installation pliers are a dream to work with. I got them in insulated as my hot strippers buy any handle will do 👍.

Have you ever considered making a clip on sheath for knipex forged wire strippers? I bet electricians and people like me would be all over that. I don't see that company shutting down anytime soon there popular and there's nothing like it on the market. If it went to the start of dipped handles it would work on comfort and insulated grips too! 👍
