I think the most likely explanation is that the live action parts were filmed first, and then custom furniture and outfits were made to fit the footage after the fact.

Considering Sims was virtual dollhouse (and boys "weren't allowed to play with Barbies, but were allowed to spend hours on PC") + that there were no restrictions in marriage/move in between genders since the very first game (much before the most countries in the world approved same sex marriage) And now seeing this... ... Im 100% sure that Will Wright team consisted of gay/bi men 🏳️‍🌈 Thank you guys for making me gay & making my childhood much better with this wonderful game ❤🌈

I've never seen this before, but this commercial is just perfect in every way. I've rewatched it about 8 times, there's something so charming about the way they move. It fits with the Sims 1 style so much, I wish they made live action Sims commercials nowadays, kinda wish they also stuck with the 50s-90s era vibe that sims 1 went for

I remember when this commercial came out, I've seen it the first on the The Sims Makin' Magic CD bonus. That was amazing and full of good futures promise things to do with next Gen of the franchise. Today The Sims 2 is still the most amazing game from the franchise I think, even if I'de love The Sims 3 and his open world.
