Maybe I am wrong as I have just recently started learning about these ancient doubles...it is my understanding that the Model 225 had the split in the trigger guard and the exposed screw in the top release lever wheras the 235 did not. Based on these features being present on your particular firearm, I believe it to be a 225.

Yep supposed to be a spring, it holds the perimeter up so the primer is in a hole and pressure on the shell pushes the perimeter down below the primer surface. The one you showed at the end of the video looks like the right one . I picked one of these up at a pawnshop and it appears to be missing the outer tube on the charging station but it seems to work fine without it. All in all it is a great tool and a lot of bang for the buck. I never thought I’d be able to get started into reloading for less than $50😅 I’m now looking for a bargain on a used turret press.

How did you get the back off your powerhead? I remove the two long screws, but Nada… The motor wines and there’s a section but the brush doesn’t turn, although it’s very clean without removing the back. I got a small piece of carpet momentarily caught in the bristles, and it stopped turning! Your video made me think the belt slipped off? Would like to tackle it myself, if I can, before taking it to the vacuum repair shop…thanks!

Not counting the equipment/initial investment,approximately how much would you say it cost to make a used bullet shoot again?prices fluctuate &all ,but approximate cost compared to current range ammo .9mm per round =.24.to make it shoot again .primer,powder & projectile ? When I was a little kid I made a pocket full of 20 ga # 8 shot every now and then to go hunt a bird or rabbit or something behind the house .matches & a orange in the other pocket & that was about it. .Good times.. I did that by watching my dad reload a box or 2 ..maybe. Remember it was relaxing and rewarding feeling,even at 7-8 years old.& they all shot just fine. Luckily.I’m not sure exactly what I have ,yet ,but a friend is giving me a bunch of stuff. I have a few hundred pounds of lead bars,some of the real basic ,making ball’s & bullets by the fire stuff,& the digital scales & modern equipment & all kinds of things in between..,all sorts of different styles in different calibers of projectiles .Just got some of it this week & put it in the shed . barely looked in the boxes,& have quite a bit more boxes to get from his house. Powder,primers ,probably a tray or 2 similar to what your showing here. I know I have plenty of homework to do,just wanted to have an idea of what it cost right now compared to new. 30-30 ,357,9 would be helpful.I have everything needed to make some start to finish.just not sure what exactly. My friend has been accumulating guns & related stuff for 75 years or so. Hes still spry,works part time at Dunham’s,I think you can guess what department,& we shoot together quite a bit.he just buys ammo these days. He’s there when it’s dropped off & sales and all. Not to mention the volume he’s stockpiled..my goodness. I want to give it a try again. It’s not just about the $ part at all. I have some modified/different type wad cutters I don’t think anyone makes that I want to try in a revolver .That’s 1 off the top of my head. black powder musket balls by the fire are great. Thanks.

well i am in Canada. just bought a 1000 small pistol primers for $100, projectiles are about $100-120 for 1K, powder varies by what you use but i usually find a pound around $55 these days, maybe more. you just got to find the sales. i think it is half the cost of buying it new. and if you make your on projectiles, it's even cheaper of course. i have a source for lead wheel weights but even they are getting scare with steel weights now. i will buy sheet lead for 50% more than the scrap yard so get some of that for black powder shooting. i like making up 44-40 rounds but the black powder is up in cost too. the last pound of schuetzen i bought was $42 a pound. they didn't have goex, not that i am fussy.... happy shooting

I make my own by putting a punch upside eown in vise and passing the poster board over it and hit it with a plastic hammer. I can make 30 a minute , Good job on the videw very nice. real quality press. Looking forward to loading in the next few days on mine.

what smoke? my fan rattles or the metal rattles some times. i think i may reposition it this year if it does it again. sometimes I get smoke coming from below the stove. i think it is coming from the back where it draws in the air. I will open the door until the draft picks up and it goes away.
@asicklyman8872

Like if I open the door at all the smoke plumes back inside the house like bad, when I try to start the fire it chokes itself out before it can really get any coals. I have the damper fully open on the bottom too and it doesn't matter. I know it wasn't this bad last year. I think it's a creosote problem so I called a local chimney sweep to do a cleaning but they can't come for a couple weeks and it's 350 bucks.
@dakotamar45acp
@dakotamar45acp 11 ай бұрын
sometimes it is just the top cap that is plugged up, if you can reach that on your own you can clean it up. I find i have to do that once in a while. the other problem could be that your house is sealed up too well. try opening a window part way to get some positive air flow into the house. once the fire gets going you should be able to close it. I assume they didn't put an outside source of air on yours either? I clean my chimney every year if i can, some years i miss it thou but as a min every 2.@@asicklyman8872
@asicklyman8872
@asicklyman8872 11 ай бұрын
Haha well the windows ate open bc it gets so damned smokey so I dunno if that's it. I climbed up there on the roof the other day and took the chimney cap off and cleaned it before putting it back on and raising it a bit to prevent it from being the issue and it still choked itself out and when I relit it and opened the door the house looked like the basement of that 70's show
