Thanks for your honest opinions. I had almost decided on the Juki before taking it for a test run because I have heard from many bag makers that it’s the “go to” machine for that kind of sewing. Your comments have me thinking I need to try them both for myself!!!

@@MACoutureCrafting. Exactly! Every one was steering me to an M7, which is a beautiful machine but when I sat down at it, nothing felt intuitive. I don’t want to have to think about how to do everything- it was too advanced for my skill set at the time! When I sat at the BabyLock Chorus though, it felt very natural by comparison. Different people are drawn to different things. I own a Juki domestic (first machine) and it has that same foot pedal - I’ve never accidentally cut my thread and usually forget I can, so totally a non issue for me but I can see where it wouldn’t be great for everyone! Mostly though I just appreciate the reminder to form your own conclusions! I often don’t trust a lot of the comparisons from sponsored videos but yours is refreshing! Thanks again!

Another "spooktacular" show! Tula Pinks "the Stillroom" kit" with the poison/potion bottles has a free download pattern. Also on my bucket list is Tula's giant "Sugar Skulls" from her book "Quilt with Tula & Angela. Tula did a "juizh" (whatever your word is, I've heard cpl utubers copying you) version cpl years ago after book came out, on Facebook Tues where she cut out huge flowers fabs and appliqued on top of skulls and sacred hearts on the sides, etc. When u said u doing Halloween in July, instead of Xmas, made me think of Tula's patterns.

I sew bags. Sling Bags, Tote Bags, etc. I design my own patterns. I need a machine that can use my design and cut out fabric based on my designs. I have several differently-shaped pattern pieces for each different bag. I'd like to be able to somehow get my designs - my shapes - into the machine and then have it cut them out for me. Can either one of these machines do that?
@MACoutureCrafting11 күн бұрын
@debihumphrey3734 yes, both actually. There is a company that can make dies for the accuquilt machine for you. Sizzix is another cheaper option too. With the cricut you would have to have your design digitized to svg then you can use it too. If it were me I'd try accuquilt or Sizzix for ease of use.

Two years ago I went to a Large Quilt show locally on the last day of the Show. I enjoyed seeing the skill of the many quilters but mainly wanted to see the different Retail booths as sometimes they carry fabrics our local shops may not carry. One booth had 3 ladies sitting and chatting surrounded by several quilts that were for sale as well as wildlife panels (I like panels) and as it was the last day of the show the quilts were marked down. I couldn’t afford the king size bear quilt, but saw a lovely hydrangea floral print with scripture verses a little under queen size for a shocking $140.00! I had to buy it and made a comment that I could not get a quilt that size long armed for that price let alone buying the fabrics! The woman was there who made it (she owns her own long arm) and I just gushed to her about how much I loved it (later realized how that may have been painful for her to hear). I also bought a cougar panel and pattern - and the next week contacted her to purchase the fabric for the cougar panel pattern that she had designed. I wanted to give her more business. I love the quilt and though I make quilts as well, I will always treasure it and realize what an awesome price I got it for. ❤
