Have a search through your rival teams, find any unhappy players and make ridiculous lowball bids to unsettle the players. Be sure you can use them or sell or loan them though, there's a good chance you might actually get them. I kept trolling Hibs by offering 10k for a 2 mil valued player and eventually they just gave in :D

Probably well known but in the dynamics tab, social groups. There should be a small group of players on the right, that are good starting points for new signings. These will alter as you get further scout reports. I always check here - on my current save, there's 2 players there who are both under £100k who are scouted as being very good signings and they're young. Boom, add as transfer targets straight away. 2 new young signings done, especially if this is also part of the club vision.

Any tips on keeping a player who wants to leave. Got a free transfer, kid turns out to be a wonder kid. Is now unsettled,, after a year. The only thing keeping him is nobody will meet the minimum fee clause, don't know if I should keep playing him or let him rot on the bench for a while so the other clubs lose interest.

It would be great if you mention any major changes from previous fm games. Playing FM20 I will be watching for tips and ideas but it will be a long time before, if and when I get a new fm game. Still have many hours left to enjoy with FM20

I think you are very wrong about free agents age you allow, best of them are not young, usually in peak years or even above 30, witch is good for mentoring if they have good personality. Maybe for top teams in england or other ellite teams you should do that, for others dont think so.
