This seems like a needlessly complicated derivative of a cyclocopter. What are the advantages to this design over conventional cyclocopters?

Interesting idea, I’m guessing those black boxes were electric motors so there’ll be a sizeable battery. There’s certainly a lot going on with all those airfoils and cams/followers as well, I bet it would make quite a commotion just getting of the ground. That’s scary enough but I’m trying to imagine being the pilot. Looking forward to seeing the RC model prototype.

If it can be made to work, and actually fly, under control, then the only thing one must consider, is it's practicality and viability as a full size aerial vehicle! . wont work, it doesnt have a way of controlling the pitch angle of the vehicle, so it will be unstable in pitch. It won’t just stay level like that, unless you have some method to generate pitch force and use it to actively stabilize the pitch.

I’m impressed with the animation, that took a lot of work, however, this design won’t work due to air not being able to pass very well through the passenger compartment. Even if the center of it was empty it would be too dangerous of a design. One component comes off track and it would jam up the whole system and be a brick in the sky. I believe this video was most likely intentionally made for KZbin views and comments. Basically click bait.
