The design-idea is kinda cool, but that thing would just flip over and over all the time if it generates enough lift for takeoff. You would need another thing like this on top that equalizes torque or something. Then you have turbulences like mad, so you would have to come up with some more turbulence-resistant airfoil-design that increase in angle of attack along the length of the apparatus. You might also want to cover front and back to enable a somewhat of a linear airflow. I don't think there's any future in this design, but I would love to see a small scale model!

It is always easy to slate an idea, but if the theory and physics support the operation is sound, then the only way to prove such a concept is viable, is to make a working scale model prototype! If it can be made to work, and actually fly, under control, then the only thing one must consider, is it's practicality and viability as a full size aerial vehicle! . Very nice modelling and animation! well done!

Interesting idea, I’m guessing those black boxes were electric motors so there’ll be a sizeable battery. There’s certainly a lot going on with all those airfoils and cams/followers as well, I bet it would make quite a commotion just getting of the ground. That’s scary enough but I’m trying to imagine being the pilot. Looking forward to seeing the RC model prototype.

Cyclocopters have mobility advantages over helicopters, with a helicopter you have to pitch or roll the cyclic to travel somewhere. That means you have to rotate the whole craft. Cyclocopters can adjust their blades in such a way as to produce offset thrust and move without pitching or rolling at all

I would say the angles of the "wings" or perhaps some mechanism that angles the flying car. I mean helicopters only have a fan over them (plus the on the tail, but that's only to balance out the helicopter from spinning in circles).

wont work, it doesnt have a way of controlling the pitch angle of the vehicle, so it will be unstable in pitch. It won’t just stay level like that, unless you have some method to generate pitch force and use it to actively stabilize the pitch.

You've got the "caterpillar tracks" (left and right) so just separate them, so there's one along the left and another along the right. In between, there is space, so the pilot can sit there above the blades. Alternatively, like a helicopter, the pilot can sit BELOW the blades.

That's where I got my original idea from(check out D-Dalus), that alone proof that the concept work. the difference is, that lugwa is more efficient due to there is more blade in total lift position all the time were in a cyclone copter you have on 2 blades in maximum lift position(12 o clock and 6 o clock) for a fraction of a second.

I like the consept, especally if the treads could work on land, and possibly water as well. But I don't see where the forward momentum comes from. The simplest way to see if this would actually work is to 3D print a model. The hard part's already been done, all the parts are already drawn and scaled properly to fit together. They just need to be translated into stl code, which most CAD doftware can do. Put the parts on Thingiverse or wherever. I would love to build one! Let the masses do your proof of consept for you.

like propeller its if you make distance between wings more then width of wing 2 times or more. otherway it will not be comfortable. Better if you make 2 this devices together and pilot and passangers will in the middle between 2 machines. Its very good idea - ive think about it to. If you make model maybe we can make real device together :) p.s. engines and track - no problem.

+baklazan ivanovich Yes you are right or a other scenario is if the is more light outside the cockpit you will have better vision. The engine is strong enough only need one engine to fly the track is not working it failed at test , I am using a pipe instead of a c-track now, with two U grove plastic wheels, this is only for the control track or as I call it a swash rail, the chain or drive track looks like it going to work fine.

@razeyoshi
@razeyoshi 3 жыл бұрын
I’m impressed with the animation, that took a lot of work, however, this design won’t work due to air not being able to pass very well through the passenger compartment. Even if the center of it was empty it would be too dangerous of a design. One component comes off track and it would jam up the whole system and be a brick in the sky. I believe this video was most likely intentionally made for KZbin views and comments. Basically click bait.

No, the trailing edges of the blades are controlled by the track. This means that the incidence of each blade is controlled by what the track does. As the track is moved, also inclined, the blades develop incidence. Furthermore, the track is inclined, so the blade incidence at the front of the cyclocopter is different to the blade incidence at the rear of the cyclocopter. Ergo, differential lift from front to rear. Also the left track is separate to the right track so you have roll control. This gives you a roll control dole bowl. Imagine Wind In The Willows, and Mole was the pilot. Then you would have Mole roll control dole bowl.

No, the trailing edges move up or down depending how the track is inclined. If you move the track up, all the trailing edges will be up. BUT... The track is inclined, so at the front the track may be down, so the trailing edges are lower at the front. Ergo, lower trailing edges means positive lift. *BUT* ... the track is inclined so you can choose positive lift at the front and negative lift at the rear.
