Do you ever get mallards/gadwall in there? I plan to plant in my swamp this year, I am pretty close to a river so hopefully they come in!

We get a few mallards, but not many here. Never seen a Gadwall here. Lot of Mallards and Gadwall not too far from us. If you are near a river then you are in luck!

Do you spray your millet to kill it off before you burn it? Do you mow it down prior to burning?

Prefer to let it dry out naturally but often times it doesnt dry quick enough (going to plant earlier this year). I do mow before burning, seems to speed up the drying. Tons of videos on the channel about it, check it out and more coming

Everything from clay to straight muddy loam. Farm ponds are muddy layer with clay bottoms, beaver ponds are highly organic mud

Enjoyed my time hunting the snow covered marsh last week. Managed to hunt Thursday afternoon, then Friday and Saturday. The ice was a beast on Saturday morning.

How do yall scout the coast? I’m in GA about an hour from the coast and have been exclusively shooting woodies for a while now, I want to go to the coast next season to get some more variety

Find public areas on a gameland map, find the closest ramp and just put some miles in! Best thing to do is go scout after duck season goes out to find where birds naturally want to be without hunting pressure and then start there next year

Thank you, it was actually a blind cripple, moving swiftly in the water. She took a great back cast at 30 kept her line through the Current. I was so happy.

@ I just went on my first ever open water duck hunt last week. We hunted bluebills on the Neuse in New Bern with H&H Outfitters. It was fun, though the birds were scattered and very skittish. We killed a dozen total
