Awesome hunt, nothing like a wood duck morning. I'm saving up to get my own land and build almost like what you have. So i really appreciate the content. Would love to see more how to do's if you could. Thank you- from Archer Lodge, NC

Very cool. That was my problem too - below tree line in early morning I couldn't see them. Also, I was hunting a roost pond most of the time and they were leaving prior to legal shooting time. I enjoyed the beaver ponds a lot, but it was tight and fast in that cover. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more.

Nice hunt. Famous last words once you've crossed it youve crossed it..... I think. Lol. Good to see your work paid off. So are you going to unblock the dam and lower the water level? And on those verticalish shots is the retay still running flawless? Keep up the good work brother
@Yellowlab247_OutdoorsАй бұрын
No sir, going to keep the water levels up just like they are for the remainder of the season through June when we water seed to replant. Rice seems happy and the ducks do too! Lot of work ahead of us next year digging out and rebuilding structures and cages.. might try a pipe setup at the lower swamp where there is less flow

Best way to add attraction for wood ducks: add rooty stumps in open pockets, get rice to grow, get a weed razor to trip vegetation pockets open if it's very thick emergent vegitation.

Are those ducks eating the rice with out it being dry??
@Yellowlab247_OutdoorsАй бұрын
Yes sir, something is tearing it off. Too high for a critter to get. Either ducks or geese are. Very "torn" look to it

@@Yellowlab247_Outdoors ok, this is the first time planting rice for me so I’m trying to learn all about it

@@ronracz9145 Nothing like a rice swamp, much more durable than millet and the ducks LOVE it. Will be doing more "how to" and tutorial videos soon

Could be deer… have seen deer in flooded impoundments eating the tops off plants
