I thought the Wagner foundry was torn down last year? Was this video taken before then? There wouldn’t be anything wrong if it was.
@honeyj.badger54843 күн бұрын
@@castironchaos Yes it was taken before the demolition last year, I wanted to publish this after it was torn down but lost the file until yesterday, unfortunately there was more footage that I couldn't recover from the other buildings.And I was told I couldn't get in trouble for going into a building if it no longer exists, 😂

@@frankmarullo228 I'm also a big baseball fan, I've been a Cincinnati Reds fan since the Big Red Machine. The griddle your looking for is a Lodge Round Griddle 9 inch. You can get them at places like Walmart or Directly from the Lodge Website. Try to find one at the store first because Lodge might charge you shipping. Lodge sometimes doesn't charge shipping if you buy a couple things, Thanks again for watching. Hope this helps you find one of these griddles for yourself. I really like mine. The griddle's should be about $20

@honeyj.badger5484 not sure what video it was in Mabye even tonight's video it is big , round , with a wire handle on it .also correct me if I'm wrong your wagner wear oval griddle is awesome but can't a vintage one be bought for less then the new one ? And did wagner wear come back into bussiness ? I am gonna watch tonight's video again to see if it's in this one or last week's and tell you then but if you know please let me know . @@frankmarullo228 The large 16" round griddle with the bail/wire handle might be around 130 years old.And I'm not sure who made that one. Those are out there but check eBay, antique stores, or flea markets, to find one. Yes you can find Vintage Wagner Ware long griddle like the one in tonight's video for cheaper, In the first part of tonight's video I go through what I know about Wagner's return to making cast iron and a brief history of what I know about the vintage ones. I hope this helps you locate one for yourself, see ya!

If you rust that sanded part down and put it in an electrolysis tank to reverse the rust process, it will leave behind enough of a fine texture where it will accept seasoning and return to a nice dark patina. I discovered it by accident when i e-tanked a heavily rusted piece and noticed it got very dark upon re-seasoning.
@honeyj.badger54845 күн бұрын
@@stevesparta4995 That is a great comment, I will try that in my e-tank. Thanks the pan in the video is one of my favorites. If you watch any of my videos or community posts that show cakes or pies that is the pan I use exclusively. Thanks again for a positive solution to a common problem. I will be pinning this comment,

@honeyj.badger5484 There is a bit of a learning curve to it. What I did was after removing from my lye tank, I would line the affected area with a wet paper towel, allow it to dry(slowly), then remove the towel and repeat the process. It may take several days to build up a nice crust, and depending on how badly damaged the piece is, you might have to repeat the process. I know it sounds messed up to intentionally rust a piece of cast iron, but the amount of material removed is very negligible. Hope it works for ya

Hey, Honey, red cabbage always bleeds. You may want to re-think the cooking style if you want to keep the deep color. Try a coarse chop then, either sauté or bake. I love to add onions and sliced apple if I have it. Season as you like.
