NZTA is just the government illegally doing whatever they like in the name of progress ie making themselves richer.

Everyone can be trespassed from entering a property and that includes Police. Why did they not just trespass all those NZTA officals and other muppets who entered there property? My heart breaks for this family and the environmental damage caused by this by pass. I thought Native trees were protected and could not be chopped down. I would have also made a complaint with the SPCA for the way your animals were treated by the helicopter spooking them and them hurting themselves trying to get away. I would also have said to the NZTA boss and the judge how would they like it if you went in and took their land and home away from them and destroyed it? Remember as Principal we have more rights than any govt or govt agencies and they cannot tell us what to do. Judges know that if we rebuke them 3 times they must stand down in court. The court system and Police work under Maritime Law and we as Principal are under Commmon Law. Common Law if the land over rides the Maritime Law. People need to know there rights as Principal. I highly recommend you watch Bill Turner on KZbin on this matter. Judges, Police, councils and other govt agencies have no power over us. We have Power over them if you truly understand Common Law and our rights as Principal. Our birth certificates are actually our death certificates and we are traded as stock each and every day. Thats why the govt and govt agencies are under the Maritime Law, but we are not dead and are living on the land so we are under Common Law. We are also traveller's not drivers so we do not need a license to travel around the country on our roads. Also we do not need to register our vehicles. Would be great if NZTA rethinks their strategy and try to upgrade some parts of the existing road. It can be windy with a narrow tunnel yes but knowing how unique and natural their land is, it's important to acknowledge that as NZ is known for its nature, native birds and Indigenous native trees and plants that are over a thousand years old and if the bypass was to go ahead, it will never come alive again and the land would not be the same. Do better NZTA for the environment.

I’m sorry for the people that lost their land and it was a beautiful area but most of this film is just sentimental claptrap. The old route is treacherous but it can now revert back to its natural state. The film implies the land was taken without recompense but under the Public Works Act compensation (market value) is paid for the land taken and any negative effects on land nearby that is not taken. The new road will save a lot of drivers’ lives. The overall benefit justifies compulsory acquisition in some cases and that is why the Public Works Act exists.
